Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

I’ve owned my new modem for 2 weeks now and so far it has been better than expectations. I normally have my modem and router as two separate devices, so I was a little weary at first. But all of that was blown away by the incredible speeds, reliability, and security this modem offers. I’m consistently hitting 450 mb/s on a 400 mb/s plan! So easy to set-up and running in just a few minutes. I had a different brand extender that repeatedly dropped connection. Replaced it with this Netgear extender (EAX80) and no more dropped connections. I learn from my mistakes and now know to stick with Netgear products.

I bought this router in July 2021. This router worked great for about 10 months. Setup was easy, there is a decent suit of features. Nothing ground breaking but enough to make me happy. Then I hit weird hiccup, and blamed it on Comcast. The router, for lack of a better term reset itself, but kept working normally. Then a few mints later it happened again. This time the wifi ssid would broadcast, but you couldn’t connect to it with your phone. Laptops would connect but not all sites would load. A few hours of fiddling and forum scrolling later one of the several steps tried previously in a different combination every time worked. Good for about a month then it happened again. This time I couldn’t even login to the router through eternet. Again hours of frustration and random troubleshooting steps later and it’s working again. 3 weeks go by and it happen ed again. It’s been hours of my life today trying to get this dang thing to work. I’m done with netgear. I’m ready to sell body parts for ubiquity equipment if it means I don’t have to fight my router anymore.

I called support to get help twice. I was told it wasn’t a mesh system and it needs to have a clear line of sight to work correctly? It does work, but the indicator lights say that it is not working.
