Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Easy to drop in as a replacement for an existing similar but older competitor WiFi router…says ALOT. I do appreciate the Nighthawk smart app more and more each day, bonus is the speedtest module. Fact: Oldest son now tells me the WIFI is XBOX worthy at 45 linear ft away from router and he doesn’t need a drop line anymore? I picked this WIFI router mainly for reviews regarding larger houses…I live in a 6500sq/ft single ranch style house with the router exactly in the middle and at worst I get 3 bars outside the house within 15 ft of the exterior…excellent for guests and plenty of range to the man cave garage and our outdoor entertainment area. I connect our streaming devices and XBOX to the 5G and all else to the 2G…works for our household, we have yet to experience a lag, spike or issue one might attribute to WiFi. Online registration and support documentation is user friendly and informative. We have 21 devices connected with 2 being hardwired.

Great accompanying app and ease of use. Set up was a breeze and the app was super intuitive and user friendly. Speeds and coverage are good, but my place is pretty small, so YMMV. Only gripe is that you only get a trial of Netgear Armor when other companies like ASUS give you free lifetime protection. Infuriating that this modem is my only DOCSIS 3.1 option besides the ISP-provided one from Optimum.

I put the extender in our barn that is located about 15 feet from our house. The EAX80 extended our range and improved our Wi-Fi reception and speed. It made a big improvement on streaming of our Fire Stick which we couldn’t get to run without buffering prior to installing the extender. We haven’t had this issue since installing the extender.

We just changed our service provider. We wanted to buy our own equipment so we didn’t have to pay or rent the equipment. It was difficult deciding what to get with so many options and the cost was more than what we expected to spend. You can’t always rely on the online reviews. I’m glad we choose the NETGEAR CAX80. It’s worth the price. Very solid box and easy setup and connection. Highly recommend this NETGEAR equipment.

So far I have no complaints of the performance of my NETGEAR CAX80 device. The only complaint I have is the monitoring of the network by Comcast/XFINITY. How do they know what sight(s) I go to and which sights require a password. This information can be seen/viewed in my account. I thought that information could be captured by the browser I am using. For that reason I am very concern about the contract/contracts between NETGEAR and Comcast/Xfinity. Where is my privacy in this purchase of your NETGEAR device?

With the new WiFi 6 card and the capability this device is amazing. The app that runs with it makes managing the device super easy as well. Highly recommend. I know it is a bit pricy, but it is worth it. Also will save you money down the line by not using equipment rental services through your internet provider.

When I connected my Netgear Nighthawk, it was great. Then couple of days later, I noticed it slowed a bit, then slowed to a crawl. Re-installed and it would not connect at all. Then it changed network names all on its own. I’m not sure where to go from here, but I’ll keep trying.

Great modem. I switch from a Arris modem which was having problems with wifi signal dropping throughout the house. This modem is a beast, no wifi drops at all, tested it ij every corner of the house and got good signal. It’s a bit pricey but i say well worth the money. I work from home and i need a stable internet connection at all times, no need to worry about any network issues with this modem.

It’s truly allows you to take full advantage of the bandwidth your isp is providing while additionally providing LAN speeds that are unmatched. This modem/router is the truth and worth the money. The app on the other hand is finicky.
