Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

It cuts my network speed in half. I have to keep doing factory resets so my Nighthawk app can find it. I would never buy another one.

Very inconsistent performance compared to old Motorola unit. Less speed in outlying rooms though cable speed doubled to 1200 Mbps

The application to monitor your devices is very nice, individually turn off access as need with a push of a button. Use the smart option and the modem auto feds 2.4ghz or 5ghz to the devices that need it. Play multiple game systems online and streaming without buffering. I personally use xfinity and have about 20 evinces connected to, game systems, phones, iPads, cameras, thermostats, smoke detectors etc. Well worth the price!

Overall, this modem has performed well. We have experienced instances where the WiFi disconnected, then reconnected. This was an inconvenience, but this rarely occurred. We have been happy overall.

This router boosted my speeds tremendously…I went from 126mbps to 473mbps in download speed and from 5mbps to 23mbps in upload speed. The Nighthawk app is very easy to setup and use. I am very satisfied with my purchase. The design is very sleek and the WiFi 6 is very fast. My internet has become very reliable with this router.

I bought this a year and a half ago when my wife started working from home. I needed great quality, reliable wifi throughout my home. I paired this with a nighthawk extender and I was fairly pleased with the coverage. That is, until this past week when this unit suddenly died. I spent over an hour with customer support troubleshooting the issue. Ultimately, they said that the unit is dead and there’s nothing more that can be done and hung up. This is incredibly disappointing. What’s worse is that the other 1 star reviews make it clear that I am not the only person this has happened to. At this price point, I would expect much more from Netgear.
