Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Bought this router in February 2022 and by May 2022 both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi signals no longer worked. Hard wired ethernet ports continued working just fine, but no WiFi meant I had to hook up my old router to run most things in my home.

Works as expected and delivers on most of its promises. I found its 5ghz network to only go about as far as my older nighthawk (~2016 edition) but obviously much better speeds now. Still wound up needing an extender in a 1800sqft home.

The AX6000 is slow, the status reads poor connectivity when i log into my genie. Ive contacted costumer service for both my internet provider and netgear with each pointing the finger to one another. Ive had no issues prior with the AC1900, I may have received a defective unit. Not satisfied with this purchase.

We’ve had it hooked up for about a week and some days and this thing is amazing. We have about 30 devices across 3700 sq/ft and it is running speeds of at least 250 mbps at the farthest points in the house and around 120 mbps at the street another 100 ft away. Super easy to set up and use. Highly recommended. Would buy again.
