Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

I have always liked the quality of the Netgear modems and routers and this has been the best combo I’ve purchased so far. It’s great but now I need my internet provider to improve so I can get what I paid for. It’s communicating within my network as described by the router, but when I try through the internet it is so slow. 400 mbps is what I pay for and I’m lucky to get 25-30 mbps download speed when my WiFi through my Xbox is just shy of 800 mbps. Can’t wait to get another option for cable internet provider.

This is a very fast cable modem, and excellent Wi-Fi router. My home Wi-Fi speeds went from the low 300’s to the mid 600’s. I have theoretically 1.2 Gbs download speeds, but no infrastructure to test to that level yet. Wired speeds are around 950, as expected on my network. Once you figure out a couple of the quirks in the system, needing static up addresses reserved in the dhcp rang to allow port forwarding being the big one, the unit has been solid. It will theoretically pay for itself in 2 years, so it needs to last at least that long. My last access point lasted 7 years, hoping for a similar life out of this.
