Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

We were looking for a faster Wi-Fi connection than what the Internet providers modem/router provided. This does it. I really like the extra features that are on the app. I can see what devises are using the modem (wired or Wi-FI) and can turn them on or off if one of the kids are up to late.

I installed this to replace an ARRIS DOCSIS 3.0 modem and Netgear router. It works full house (set in middle up high). I wanted to upgrade my Spectrum Internet to 1Gbps and my old Netgear router was starting to fail (many years old). I am running close to 1Gbps download and over 40Mbps upload speeds. Make sure you provide the cable company with the MAC address on the sticker on the outside of the box.

Having difficulty keeping the internet connection to tablets, Tv’s etc. says on the front of box that it is compatible with my internet provider Spectrum. The Spectrum agent told me that it is not on the list of cable/router modems any longer. Now I can see why. It doesn’t stay connected to anything. Needless to say I may have to return it to bestbuy.

I was disappointed with the signal and speed that I was getting from this router. It shows that I was on Wifi 6 but the speed was way less than my old router. The 5Ghz connection range is not as good as I was expecting it to be. Very disappointed with this router. I opted in getting a mesh option instead.

I did my research and this router/modem combo seemed to fill my needs. It was surprisingly easy to setup. Since using it, the connections in the house have been rock solid without any crashes.
