Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Once I got the Nighthawk up and running it worked well. The set up was not as simple as advertised and the unit is a bit finicky about where it is placed in order to extend a solid wifi signal. It works way better than the older unit that it replaced.

I have had WI-FI dead spots in my home for years. I have tried a multitude of range extenders and wireless access points in attempts to resolve this issue. All have failed to solve all of the dead spots. I installed an EAX80 and all of my dead spots disappeared. I was able to remove all other range extenders and WAPs which simplified my home network. Performance of devices that connect to my network thru the EAX80 is dramatically faster. Setup was a snap with the Nighthawk app. I had everything running in less than 5 minutes which included disconnecting all of the other extenders and WAPs.

I can’t use a wired connection for gaming due to the distance from our router. I tried different extenders and power line connectors and all were a waste. Finally I decided I’m just gonna spend the money and if this doesn’t give me a better signal nothing will. I wish I’d bought this months ago. It’s incredible, the setup is insanely easy and convenient through the app. Just plug and play. My internet speed is now faster from the other side of the house than it is connecting to the main router just a few feet away. This one may actually be more than I need and others are listed on the site for quite a bit less but if you want an extender that will 100% get the job done, you found it.

Worked great! X-Finity app would not register my MAC address. Took hours to get a tech rep. Once they did, everything worked fine. Good range and performance. Pricey tho.

I had wifi connection problem recently. After changing it to this router, it runs pretty well. I give it 4 stars because it has one problem. If I restart it, it stays offline every time. I have to reset it through my laptop so that it goes to online again.
