Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

I purchased the Netgear CAX80 to upgrade the speed of my modem. There were some hiccups initially with the speeds I was seeing on the CAX80, but after restarting a couple times I think that is resolved now. But I still have an issue that the 2.5 gbit LAN is providing slower speeds (100 Mbps) to my Samsung TV than the WiFi is. I confirmed with a speed test on the TV, as well as the Amber indication for the 2.5 gbit light on the front of the modem/router.

Bought primarily for Range extender and range is no better than alot of less expensive extenders on the market in fact TP link out performs for less money. It is easy to setup wants to utilize mesh technology which doesn’t play nice with devices dedicated to 2.4 features. WiFi. Overall very mediocre device quality does seem good and easy setup are pluses. Bottom line their are alot of better choices for performance out there and definitely ones with more bang for the buck. That is why I rate as mediocre pluses easy setup and appears as quality item and if you want mesh technology this is for you range is not impressive and compairs with way less expensive extenders.

I needed to extend my WIFI coverage in and around the exterior of our home. The Nighthawk EAX80 WIFI Mesh Extender is a perfect match paired with my Nighthawk CAX80 Router. My home is roughly 4000sf and sits on an acre lot and with both the CAX80 and EAX80 paired together all of my WIFI needs are met. Very easy to pair and easy to monitor using the Netgear App.
