Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Our only available connection for our modem and router were on the 2nd floor in the center of the house. This created an amazing signal upstairs. This extender was amazingly easy to install and setup using the app. I completed the setup in a few minutes and I was ready to go!! I plugged my VOIP phone into the port and it worked immediately with great voice quality. My wi-fi devices picked up a better signal since my home office is a good distance from the main router. Overall, this was a great purchase.

I got this unit nearly 11 months ago and over the last few days, internal components started to fail. I called support, got nowhere. I wanted them to replace the unit, as its defective and I’m within my 1-year warranty. I understand tech breaks, however Netgear needs to stand behind their products and offer replacements if items are within warranty.

The knighthawk gateway is pretty good. With the app you can set it up using your phone. You can also change setting thru the app. It has a lot of bells and whistles for you advance users.

It’s working very well in my urban home despite many other nearby WiFi networks and late 19th century construction that often undermines WiFi range and performance. I had some false starts on setup which was probably my fault, though it’s fairly straightforward and easy to manage both physically and via the Nighthawk app along with my XR1000 router.

I’m a gamer, I have a multitude of devices connected, and this modem/router handles them all very well. Skip the I.P. and use the user friendly app to set everything up. It’s really great to have access from anywhere using your smartphone. The range is right at where it says, it’s on the far end of my house and doesn’t quite reach through all the walls to get to the other side. I plan on adding the WiFi extender soon. This modem was a huge upgrade from my previous modem and I’m having excellent results so far. TL;DR great router, user friendly app, easy setup
