Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

The setup was a snap. Already had the app for my Nighthawk router. Now I have NETGEAR everything (modem, router, and extender) but honestly that isn’t needed. It’s very easy to set up and I got great speeds on the other side of my house.

The only negative is that my computer (more than four years old) wifi card would not recognize the wifi6 router, I don’t feel I was given a heads up that it would require updating my wifi card.

I’ve had nothing but problems since I purchased this router. Been on the phone with tech support at least 6 times (who is most interested in upselling you an extended warranty). DHCP problems, port forward problems and the thing looses connection with its Netgear extender partner NIGHTLY… Here we go again another reboot of to get my network back up and running again. Honestly, don’t waste your time like I did. Never had these kind of problems with other MISMATCH router and extender setups. Please do yourself a favor and find something else. If you do buy it, welcome to reboot hell.
