Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

I’ve had issues with wifi performance since I’ve moved into my new place. It’s 2,500 sq feet and 2 levels. It’s not an open floor plan so every room is separated by walls. I’ve tried the smaller 300mb extenders from NETGEAR and while they did ok I was still not able to stream multiple instances of live video at all upstairs while hardwired into my smaller extender. With the nighthawk extender I can stream 3+ instances of live sports video without any buffering. And I have 0 dead spots in my home it’s well worth whatever price it’s sold for.

My connection has never failed me. I use this for work and call center is very demanding with vpn’s and virtual desktops slowing down internet speeds. I now get speeds as fast as my ISP will allow me. I am a gamer on the side. So, if you want monster speeds and excellent connection get this. Also, my job requires hard wired connection, so I have the demand of Ethernet with the flexibility of WI-FI. TBH support was not the best, but they resolve most of your problems. My issue was that I used the same admin password for two devices and every time I would try to work on one device it would pick up the other. Make sure you have separate passwords. Lol overall a great product.

My CAX80 was outrageously simple to set up and the speed, capabilities and options are unrivaled. I went from an average of 250 mbps with my old modem to 625 mbps on nearly all my devices. I love the NIGHTHAWK app and the ease with which I can see all 18 devices and whether they are on 2.4GHz or 5GHz. The monthly savings over the ISP rental is amazing as well and setting up and activating the modem couldn’t have gone easier. My only regret: I wish I’d made the move much sooner!!
