Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

First nighthawk router that came wouldn’t connect to the internet. I fought for two weeks and spent hours on hold with my ISP and nighthawk support. Finally I returned that one for another one and within a few minutes of hooking the new one up it was up and running. No trouble since then and everything in our home is connected with good coverage and speed.

This netgear nighthawk CAX80 modem router is very easy to set up with comcast Xfinity. It has been a week now and there has been no disconnect. My current plan is 600mbps and I am getting the full speed with ethernet cable or wifi. I think the fastest Xfinity plan is 1200mbps and I am certain this modem router will definitely give that speed since it has 1 ethernet port that is rated up to 2.5gbps and the other 4 ports is 1gbps each. Wifi should provide up to that speed also as long as your device is wifi 6. Very happy with this netgear nighthawk CAX80.

The only negative is that my computer (more than four years old) wifi card would not recognize the wifi6 router, I don’t feel I was given a heads up that it would require updating my wifi card.

This is by far the best piece of hardware I have purchased for home internet. If you’re serious about getting blazing speed look no further. The setup was easy and it was already compatible with Xfinity. The unit runs cool. The app is good and if you add extenders then you are fully enabled to not miss fast speed internet in your home.

Purchased both a new Netgear router and extender to set up for internet tv. Great signal throughout the house except for a 4k Sony tv about 15′ from the extender. Still trying to troubleshoot why the signal keeps dropping.

This extender is a decent one. It supports mesh mode. It does sometimes lose connectivity to wifi 6 or the usb devices connected to it and needs to be frequently restarted. This is annoying. Other than that, it is a pretty nice unit and works well.

This router is powerful and reaches the areas that were hit and miss before. I comes with Netgear Armor which uses Bitdefender for complete protection on anything connected. I have the app on our cell phones and that does a great job.

I initially had difficulties setting up the modem because the app that must be used for the install and set up was not functioning properly. After that issue was resolved I am extremely happy with the modem/router. It has fantastic range that does not really require an extender, but I use one anyway. Money well spent.
