Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.
Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

When i first got it i caked netgear because to finish the set up. This a great combo, I’ve had it about a week, no issues or problems. I’m happy with my purchase. The modem and router is very expensive, but it you bought both products you will pay the same amount or maybe more. The netgear package said that it covers 2500 sq ft, but netgear technician said that it covers 5000 sq ft. I can attest to that because it covers all three floors in my home..

The RAX120 router has superior functionality and user control. This router increased the WiFi speed at all devices and reduced the number of drops that occurred routinely. It has a very good app-based control interface that permits some parental controls over each connected device. I also like the ability to plug in multi-gig LAN cables as well as this router’s smart feature that selects the best speed and WiFi convention for each device. Routers have come a long way and this one incorporates many of the current technologies.

Being forced to use a cell phone app to do the setup is not the best. The app lets you do the basics, but to do any advanced security setup you have to google the default IP address to do anything beyond the basics. With the amount of hacking going on you need to access the advanced configuration to protect your network

The CAX80 was not a good fit for my LAN. After two days of trying two different modems with Netgear support spearheading the effort, conflicts with the ISP could not be resolved. The modem was returned for a full refund. Netgear and the support team were professional, courteous but still a frustrating experience.
