The Orbi RBK13 system has the ability to cover 4500 square feet of space with up to 1.2 Gb/s of dual-band Wi-Fi speeds. You get up to 400 Mb/s via 2.4 GHz or up to 866 Mb/s via a 5 GHz connection. To help maximize the speed of your family’s gaming and video stream needs, the Orbi router supports MU-MIMO and beamforming technology. While online, NETGEAR Armor, parental controls, and 128-bit AES/PSK encryption work to keep everyone’s online experience safe and secure.

I was having trouble with momentary drops and good bandwidth in my house (3000 sq ft). This has been totally solved after installing this mesh Wi-Fi system – bandwidth is very good and my phone and computer switch between the router and satellites invisibly. Installation was very easy – basically just pick a name and password. The downside to this is that there aren’t a lot of advanced features that were available on the router I replaced. But all the essential features are there.

It was a major effort to get this system set up, and I never was able to get the app to work properly. Using the website method was much more effective and easier. It’s possible that my phone is just too old, and a newer device would manage it better, but I didn’t think I was *that* far behind the times. That said, once we got it up and running, it’s been great. We used to have connections dropping right, left, and center, and that’s completely stopped. Very happy with the system now that I’m past my setup frustration.

I installed this at my in laws house where my initial setup didn’t work too well. I may actually only needed to install one satellite to over everything. After the initializing of the equipment the app read that both satellites were online but the coverage didn’t reflect that. I had to sync both satellites again which corrected the issue. They now have wifi through the whole house and about 100′-120′ around the house. That covers the shed, gazebo, and camp fire.
