Help ensure that your home is fully covered by high-speed wireless network access with the Orbi AX4200 Wireless Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System from Netgear. This Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) mesh system includes a router and one satellite that are each designed with six high-powered antennas to provide up to 1800 Mb/s of bandwidth to connected devices through the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, covering up to 5000 square feet. A dedicated 5 GHz connection allows the Orbi router and satellite to transfer data to each other at up to 2400 Mb/s. In total, that’s about 4x the speed of 802.11ac, delivering smooth 4K video streaming and online gaming experiences. The router has three Gigabit Ethernet ports, while the satellite has two, allowing you to connect wired devices such as smart TVs, game consoles, computers, and more. Use the Orbi app to quickly configure and manage the devices, including setting up a guest network login. You can also use Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to issue voice commands.

This WiFi mesh system is amazing! I connected the router to my internet modem and a satellite in the basement and upstairs. Not only did the Orbi boost my WiFi speed from 500 mbps to 615 mbps but I got that same speed throughout the entire house (before it never went above 100 mbps). I also tested at the street, about 150 ft from the router and got 515 mbps. This system has blown me away.

The system works well. Unfortunately, I followed the set-up directions that tell you to use the same WiFi name as the old WiFi name. In theory that sounds perfect to automatically bring all the devices online. The problem is that the devices won’t hook up to the new router, because they’re still trying to connect to the old one with the same name. After following the prompts for a while, it eventually tells you to change the name of the old WiFi/router so to not have this problem. My suggestion is to change the name of the old WiFi/router prior to set-up. Then, plug in the Orbi and use the reset button right out of the box. Then follow the set-up instructions. That should save you serious time. Best wishes.

I was surprised at the quality, ease and performance of orbi. You read the details, but don’t realize that with orbi it’s all true. I have had many attempts in using other mesh products, but orbi really is by far the best
