Help ensure that your home is fully covered by high-speed wireless network access with the Orbi AX4200 Wireless Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System from Netgear. This Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) mesh system includes a router and one satellite that are each designed with six high-powered antennas to provide up to 1800 Mb/s of bandwidth to connected devices through the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, covering up to 5000 square feet. A dedicated 5 GHz connection allows the Orbi router and satellite to transfer data to each other at up to 2400 Mb/s. In total, that’s about 4x the speed of 802.11ac, delivering smooth 4K video streaming and online gaming experiences. The router has three Gigabit Ethernet ports, while the satellite has two, allowing you to connect wired devices such as smart TVs, game consoles, computers, and more. Use the Orbi app to quickly configure and manage the devices, including setting up a guest network login. You can also use Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to issue voice commands.

The setup is relatively easy and the mesh is a big improvement over extenders. We can move from room to room without issues. This is especially good for Wifi Calling on mobile devices. The downside is the range is not as strong as my previous wifi router, a Netgear Nighthawk R9000, but I almost never needed that kind of range. I do need seamless coverage.

The set up was a pain but it may have been self induced. Read the directions and it should be fine. One I was able to get everything to connect it’s been working very well. Speed tests vary by method. The Orbi app shows 950 mbps on a 1200mbps plan but Speedtest shows half that.

In December of 2017 I got the Google WiFi Mesh routers and they worked great. A few weeks ago one of my mesh routers started to have a weak signal and my speeds started to slow down. I started to research different Mesh systems and although the Netgear Orbi AX4200 cost more than replacing with another Google Nest WiFi router the Netgear Orbi came up as a better and faster replacement. I have a couple cellphone that have Wi-Fi 6 and they seem faster with app updating and web browsing. Setup was easy and took minutes and is pretty simple to work. I would recommend it to family and friends.

We tried the Linksys Velop with 1 satellite vs Orbi 75x with 2 satellite. Orbi 75x definitely works better than Linksys, which kept connecting to the farther away home base. Perhaps it would be a fair comparison if we pay a more to get the 2 Linksys Velop satellite. However, getting 2 satellite with Orbi 75x for a lower price seems to be a better value if I need both satellites for the same signal reach. Dang fast connection with 5Ghz. Do need to disable AE for 2.4 GHz and use channel 11 to support older wifi printer (Reboot of all Orbi and printer are required after setting change).

Having consistent WiFi throughout the home is a big upgrade from having had spotty service for the last decade. The app is fun touch that helps to show device performance and can be very useful when configuring your home’s WiFi. We are very impressed.

The system seems to work well but the app is difficult to use and set up was not easy. I had to go through the set up process several times and even had to reset the modem at one point for the app to finally register toy phone. Overall a decent product but would have went with something else if I would have known the difficulty of the set up.

Purchasing the Netgear Orbi whole home tri-band mesh wifi 6 system was the best purchase I’ve made since moving into my new place. I had recently upgraded my ISP to ATT Fiber with the 1000 mbps package. Unfortunately , the router/modem combo that ATT provides is abysmal, specifically with wireless connectivity throughout the house. Even Hardwired my speed tests only reflected around 500 mbps. In addition to this I constant connectivity issues with Apple products. After purchasing and installing the Orbi system , and using my ISP supplied router in pass through , my download and upload speeds are 900 mbps down and up when wired , and over 600 wireless ! I installed one satellite in the living room and the other satellite in my sons room at the end of the house. I now have flawless connectivity in all corners of the house , even outside the house in my car. My Apple connectivity issue is no more , and my son and I can both play call of duty or fortnite at the same time while my wife streams 4K movies in the living room with no lag or buffering times. I also love that you can hardwire directly into each satellite. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase, it’s performance , and the ease of use with the netgear orbi app.

I previously had a dual band Linksys Velop and it was okay but would occasionally go offline or not reach the far corners of my house (not huge, but 2000 sq ft mid century ranch on a basement). I was slightly hesitant going from router/2 satellites to router/1 satellite, but so far the coverage is better and the speed seems faster. Time will tell, but worst case I may eventually buy a second satellite to cover my basement and that should also reach outside to my shop.

I upgraded from wifi with an extender to the Orbi mesh system which has 3 units including to satellites and it has improve the reliability of my wife I would tremendously in my home. I generally get speeds just is high as I would get from an ethernet connection in my home.

We put an ORBI Whole Home Tri-Band Mesh WiFi 6 System in our second home, a 3-level home with a corrugated metal ceiling on the lower level. I ran a speed test at our current home and a speed test at the home with the ORBI. Even though we have the same internet provider and the same bandwidth, the ORBI showed a huge improvement in speed.
