Help ensure that your home is fully covered by high-speed wireless network access with the Orbi AX4200 Wireless Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System from Netgear. This Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) mesh system includes a router and one satellite that are each designed with six high-powered antennas to provide up to 1800 Mb/s of bandwidth to connected devices through the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, covering up to 5000 square feet. A dedicated 5 GHz connection allows the Orbi router and satellite to transfer data to each other at up to 2400 Mb/s. In total, that’s about 4x the speed of 802.11ac, delivering smooth 4K video streaming and online gaming experiences. The router has three Gigabit Ethernet ports, while the satellite has two, allowing you to connect wired devices such as smart TVs, game consoles, computers, and more. Use the Orbi app to quickly configure and manage the devices, including setting up a guest network login. You can also use Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to issue voice commands.

The app to manage your WiFi has good features but everything is super bare bones. In addition things that should be free require a subscription. Pretty garbage. Speeds are usually solid and fast however I’m not hitting close to my max speeds of 200 on all devices. My house is small and we have the router and two satellites so signals should be super strong through any spot in the house. Overall it works well and it’s better than standard hardware from an ISP. Updates to the software could make it super great. General performance is better than my old hardwired setup thanks to cheaper fiber isp option so I’m not as down on not hitting closer to 200 when I’m getting 100 at a minimum.

This system does exactly what it is supposed to do. I set up a home office on the opposite end of my house with my regular router. I was getting 200 mbps near the router and in the main part of the house and 20 mbps in the new office. I bought Orbi with two extender satellites, read the instructions on the App and 15 minutes later was getting identical 200 mbps in my office!

This Orbi system has given a rear “dead” room new life. My home is an older linear layout at approximately 1700 square feet. This system is rated for 6,000 sq feet and up to 40 devices. I am using my ISP modem as a gateway and the Orbi system as the router and AP with the satellites. This has greatly helped with bandwidth in all my rooms throughout the house not to mention having some bandwidth outside.

It took me about 4 hours and three technician phone calls to get my one-router-one-satellite Orbi system working. I tried setting it up through the Orbi app, and then through the router’s homepage, but none of them worked. A customer care person tried helping me by taking through each step on the Wi-Fi’s homepage. It didn’t help. Finally, I was able to use the app to setup the system with the help of another technician. After that, the experience has been great! We have a long house with five rooms, and the Orbi system gives a download speed about 250Mbps to the farthest room. I am planning on installing another satellite for a faster wifi. The color codes on the routers are very helpful
