Expand the reach of your existing Orbi Wi-Fi System with the Orbi Wireless AC3000 Satellite from Netgear. This Satellite device adds up to 2000 additional square feet to your wireless network and supports tri-band wireless connectivity along with support for 802.11a/g/b/n/ac Wi-Fi network standards.
Once configured, the Orbi Wi-Fi System provides comprehensive wireless network access and operates on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies supporting tri-band functionality to handle a greater number of connections. Additionally, the router and connected Satellite devices support the 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard and offer enhanced wireless data transfer rates of up to 3000 Mb/s. To further enhance wireless connections this Netgear Wi-Fi System utilizes both beamforming and MU-MIMO technologies to provide a more directed signal to multiple devices all at the same time.

I was struggling with the WiFi in my home for several reasons and could not find the right extender to cover the whole house. I literally set up the 2 orbi’s in 10 minutes and every inch has incredible WiFi. Which is very important when you have WiFi security cameras like Ring etc. they require a steady and strong signal to be reliable and this system was perfect!!!

This satellite was an RMA replacement. The original satellite that came with the router always had trouble pairing and eventually never would pair. I had bought the upgraded tech support and they walked me through some troubleshooting and determined RMA was needed. The support folks were very patient and helpful. The new satellite came in a couple of days, even with all the holiday shipping delays. I followed the regular satellite install instructions and it was working in just a few minutes. 2.4 and 5 ghz devices started showing up paired to it and so far working well.

We have an extremely long ranch house that our router is placed in the middle of our house in the living room and the satellite is placed in our bedroom so we have wifi all over and it’s practically the same in every room. Our place is fairly large and our WiFi is at the front of the house. The signal won’t reach to the back yard or deck or loft. I’ve tried a pile of high end WiFi routers – they just don’t reach. I’ve got Nest cameras and the Amazon Echo plus all the home automation stuff. They just seem to swamp a typical router. So I tried the Google mesh routers and compared to the Orbi. So far Orbi is the best of the bunch. Nice and fast, easy setup. It’s definitely not for the IT crowd but it’s very functional and it does what it says – saturates your place with good WiFi. Until it doesn’t. It flakes out now and again. No idea why. But it seems to get it’s act back together after a few minutes and reboots or whatever it does then all is well again. Sometimes it will run for a week with no issues and other times it flakes out once or twice in a day. But like I said, it’s better than any of the alternatives.

The cable connection is downstairs. I am upstairs. Through plaster and lathe walls. A previous extender just didn’t work. The signal was slow, weak and unreliable. Then I got the Orbi. I connected the router, put the satellite in my room and turned it on. I was still reading the manual when I saw the purplish light. Uh-oh, that wasn’t good. Maybe I was too far? I was still reading what to do when the light turned white. I’m connected! So I switched my wifi over to the router, and suddenly, 94 Mbps! And that was the wonder. The entire bandwidth to the house, wirelessly and flawlessly. The way wireless routers should be. MLB.tv has never been better!
