The Orbi home mesh wifi system is stylish in design, effortless to setup and has excellent coverage for our home both inside and outside. The surprise was the strength of the wifi signal inside and outside of the house. Well done NetGear on producing a thoughtful and powerful mesh system.

I bought the router in Feb 2019. Installation was simply and straightforward. The router worked well for 2 years. Unfortunately, 2 years exactly after the installation, the internet port on the main hub stopped working. I understand that the product comes with a one-year warranty, but considering how much this router costs, it should not fail within such a short period. I have done alot of home automation installation and am quite capable with technology and networks. All necessary troubleshooting was done beforehand to confirm that it was the internet port on the main hub that was at fault. Having called NETGEAR, they are simply repeating that the system is out of warranty. Save your money and go for an Asus router, many have 2-years warranty. At least that’s a start.

Getting good coverage throughout my 3500sq ft ranch style house has been a challenge. Until a friend recommended the Netgear Orbi mesh WI-FI system. It has been a maintenance free solution, no more dead zones!! Thank you Orbi!

This mesh system is the best in the market for the price! We have two teachers and one student at home! Life saver for online teaching and learning!

Orbi! Where have you been?!?! Super easy to install. Amazing coverage of our 3,000 sq ft space that’s not real “open space.” The app. Brilliant. Didn’t need the laptop to configure anything. Install, configure, and off to the races it was. Buying another for my other facility. Orbi RAWKS!

We live in a ranch with a loft addition and a great room. We have 6 devices, cut the cable and the Netgear brings all our streaming apps to every room.

After first setting up it seemed to work great then after a few days I started to experience problems with my Sony TV (2019 Model). At first the TV connected to satellite on 5Ghz channel, but after a few days it was on 2.4Ghz channel and then after few more days it was on 5Ghz channel on Router which is further away. Then it started disconnecting and would not connect back (TV Says SSID is disabled), I would connect back and it wold only stay connected for 10-15 mins before disconnecting again After forgetting the network on the TV and adding again it connected back at 5Ghz on the Satellite but after few days it went through same cycle as before and eventually would only stay connected for 10-15 mins at a time. Eventually I moved the satellite closer and it now seems more stable with the TV staying on the 5Ghz channel from satellite. My guess is that there is some issue with the TV trying to connect back to the satellite once it connected to router and it ended up disconnecting instead. Other devices on the network don’t have any issues. Apart from that its definitely improved the speed of my Wi-Fi over my AT&T U-Verse Router.

Overall the Orbi system is great. Setting up if fairly painless using their app. Be ready to turn off notifications because you will get a lot in the first few days as things connect for the first time. Getting satellite hubs to connect was easy as well but it did take a couple hours for everything to update before the entire system was usable.

I bought an RBR50 and RBS50 mesh wifi kit in October, and for the most part, I’ve been happy with it with the exception of some issues that I recently noticed. I set up an office in a room that was previously mostly unused and I noticed that WiFi didn’t work very well in there. Distance from either access point to the room is relatively short, so I wasn’t sure what was going on. I used a WiFi signal analyzer and found that 5GHz signal strength is very low in the room, which makes sense given the walls between the room and the access points. No problem, 2.4GHz signal strength is good. Wrong… The 2.4GHz signal strength frequently drops from ~70% to zero. I tested in close proximity to both the router and satellite and found the same issue. The 5GHz signal is always perfect, but 2.4 drops from 90% to 0 several times a minute. I want to put another satellite in that room to cover that area of the house, but I’m not sure I want to spend more money on a device that doesn’t work properly. This problem is compounded by the fact that both my wife and I are working from home and our VPN connections drop constantly in this room, but they work when we’re in range of 5GHz.

I’ve been having problems with the equipment my internet provider gave us for months now. So I did my research on mesh WiFi and came across the orbi. It’s looked like the most obvious choice so I got it. It’s safe to say it’s great. The speeds are perfect every thing on the other side of my home gets connected perfectly. I’m happy I made the right choice and went with the orbi. Thank you.

Switching to this router from the ISP’s router made my connection faster (even faster than what I’m paying for!). It went from 12Mbps to 15Mbps. Setup was pretty easy, too.

We bought this router system based on a recommendation from our son-in-law. We were looking for something that would provide good WiFi access throughout our home and outside close to the house. This unit has worked great! I like the speed test features.
