Expand the coverage of your Orbi Pro Router with the Orbi Pro AC3000 Wireless Tri-Band Gigabit Add-On Satellite Access Point from NETGEAR. This access point supports the 802.11ac network standard and operates a single 2.4 GHz frequency and dual 5 GHz frequencies offering maximum wireless data transfer rates of up to 3000 Mbps. In addition to wireless connectivity, clients can connect to any of the four Gigabit Ethernet ports for a reliable wired network connection.
Setup is simple. Just plug in the Orbi Satellite Access Point and it automatically connects to the nearby Orbi Pro Router. Once connected, this access point expands wireless coverage by up to 2,500 square feet while offering 3 Gbps AC Wi-Fi speeds. The Orbi Access Point even comes with wall- and ceiling-mount screws for easy installation.

I bought an RBK50 mesh only to find out you cannot buy a satellite for it in the entire country of Australia. What’s the point in purchase a mesh network system if you cant upgrade it by adding a satellite? They also removed the ability to have a separate 2.4g and 5g network using different names. I would give the Netgear Orbi system a miss when looking for a new router.

This system truly is fast. When it works, it’s amazing. The issue is that oftentimes the internet will show not connected. It affects the LAN ports and WiFi. The broadcast shows available, but with no internet connection. I know this has nothing to do with my ISP because I have connected my previous Nighthawk R7000 router and has zero disconnects. I have since coupled the Orbi to the R7000 just so I can connect my work equipment to it so it doesn’t disconnect several times a day.
