Bought this air fryer about 2 weeks ago, and holy smokes it’s amazing. Had that new smell for the first few times using but it has since gone away. Have cooked so much and frozen foods such as jalepeno poppers and tator tots taste SO MUCH better than from the oven and cook faster (and not much heat in the kitchen!) Another fav is doing frozen hash brown patties that taste better than Mcdonalds!Found myself cooking shorter times than what’s listed in the recipe book. Like many other reviews say, it takes time to figure out how to work it and also helps to have a thermometer. Also, I found it not too big or too small; can fit a whole bag of Ore-Ida taters in. SO glad we went with this size. Buy one the next time it’s in stock!

While shopping, I noticed the enthusiastic reviews for this fryer. It’s justified. Totally satisfied customer. I’d like to offer some tips from a beginner viewpoint.* Upon unpacking, completely wash and dry all usual parts.* Reassemble unit and take outside where electricity is available. Run the Max Crisp function for 15 mins. The stench is common to many air fryers. Allow Ninja to cool and air out before washing and drying again.* Consider the accessories I recommend here. A must have is a set of silicone tipped tongs. Plastic and nylon will melt and metal will scratch the basket.* A meat thermometer will assist you in getting consistent results, no raw chicken.* Accessory kits will enable you to try new ideas like baking or making kabobs. Very handy.Seriously, I haven’t found a thing I would change about theMax XL.These exact accessories are highly recommended!

First of all, I love Ninja brand products, have been trading up to Ninja as my older countertop appliances need to be replaced. I lucked into the air fryer and am so happy to have it. This is an all around great appliance, quick cooking and does not smell up your house! It heats fast and the cook times are minimal. You should use silicone or non scratch type utensils with this air fryer.I love the size of this model, great for family size cooking. This would be awesome for a dorm/first apartment.

I am a single woman and need appliances that are convenient, quick, and easy to use. This Ninja Air Fryer Max XL is just the appliance I’ve been looking for! It is actually a few appliances in one so you save on counter space. It “fries” well, everything comes out crispy, not soggy like fish sticks and pizza can be coming out of an oven. I love that it is healthier as I’m working on eating healthier. It is so easy to use, very user friendly, and clean-up is a breeze! Love that! There are enough settings for all of my cooking needs. It has a pause button which is nice, a cooking temperature sticker to tell you how long and what temperature to use for various foods, and a large crisping tray. I am so happy with this air fryer! The only con I have is it’s a big loud buy not overly, just think it would be nice to be a little quieter.

I have only used it 4 times but it performed well. One thing I found is the dehydrator time and temp were inadequate . I had to raise the temperature and increase the time for the apple and banana slices I was dehydrating. On the other hand the doughnuts were amazing as were the French fries!

First meal was fish and chips, both were from frozen state. Had to drop temp on fish, crust was burning and fish wasn’t done, but edible after lowering temp. Fries can out just fine, super crunchy on the outside, mellow on the inside. Second dish I tried was ‘air-frying’ fresh chicken thighs. Again, crust was done before chicken cooked to safe temp. Of course they tasted great since I am such a wonderful cook, but the temp controls seem to be more sensitive than even a toaster oven convection setting. Love the speed of cooking, and so easy to clean, just need to be patient with the learning curve on temps.

Having an air fryer that does much more than fry is pretty legit in my eye. The manual that comes with the fryer is super helpful but I did find that after pre-heating and following the directions to cook things (different times and temperature for veggies, meat, etc.) was not accurately. After burning one thing, I decided to cook things half the time mentioned in the manual. So far, everything is cooking great! I knocked off one star because cooking times for food in the manual doesn’t seem accurate.
