We bought this a few weeks back. We have put it to work and it is great for fries very good for muffins and corn bread but not so good for cake. My only wish is for an observation window.

I was so excited to try this air fryer after reading reviews and watching something on tv that featured one, but my feelings are mixed after cooking several things in it. So far, I’ve made both regular and sweet potato fries, the broccoli recipe that comes in the cookbook and chocolate soufflé. Each time the cooking time has been off and I’ve had to guess at the adjustment… both times the fries were half over-cooked and half-undercooked, the soufflé was over-cooked and the broccoli was way over-cooked… I’m chalking this up to a learning-curve and will keep trying. I have other Ninja products and LOVE them and the quality of the construction of this fryer is excellent. However, there is an off-gassing smell while the fryer is cooking that I’m hoping diminishes with use, and both my husband and I have noticed on all the foods that there’s an “off” taste that can only be described as “chemical” like the coating of the main cooking unit… also hoping this diminishes with use.

This air fryer is great. Very large basket which holds a lot of food. Very minimal amount of oil needed to cook(when needed), and everything comes out very crispy, like it was fried. Wings and fries come out great. I love that you can even cook vegetables in this. Recipe book is packed with ideas.

Received our fryer yesterday. Cleaned it and had french fries for lunch. Crispy and soft in center. Today we cooked a whole chicken..the juice just ran while cutting, tender and flavorful. We checked the temperature and found it consistent with fryer reading.

This is the second airfryer we have owned and this one was an upgrade, better capacity, higher max heat and several options to allow for different types of cooking. Like being able to put the cooking basket in the dishwasher.It cooks food very well with little or no oil but still delivers the crunch.

I’ve been very impressed with the Ninja Air Fryer Max XL. It’s simple to use and fairly straight forward to clean. The recipes provided are great as well! I’ve never generally cooked fries at home, since they either come out floppy and soggy or overdone and crunchy. The store-brand fries came out perfectly, I was very impressed! I tried a breaded chicken recipe and it was utter perfection! This will be a great replacement for grilling in the wintertime, I’m really excited.Just a heads up, it is a little bulky for something you don’t necessarily use on a daily basis, so storage could be a problem for some. If that’s the case, I’d recommend the smaller size.

The chemical smell others have mentioned disappears after a short while. We were fairly pleased with the unit however after 8 months it stopped working. The panel would not turn on, start, or anything. It simply just quit. I couldn’t find any videos or blogs to assist.

So easy to use. Plugged it, didn’t read instructions, plopped layers of ham, cheese and tomato on rye on the rack and hit 10 mins on a low 300 setting for 10 mins. Pulled out the best crispy toasted melty cheese sandwich ever. Beats toasting and grilling in a greasy fry pan. Just remember, the wire rack handles are hot and a little cumbersome to grasp and lift up and out from the main basket.

I own this ninja air fryer xl and the foodi 5. I use them both i have also bought 3 more of the ninja xl for my kids. It makes unbelievable chicken wings fries and much more last night I air fried a 8lb whole chicken at 360 degrees 30 minutes on each side . There was enough drippings in the bottom of the fryer to make gravy. This machine is awesome You will not be disappointed which ever one you get

Oh my goodness! This is absolutely the best air fryer I have ever had. It is super easy to use and I really love the huge 5.5 quart size. I am able to cook an entire bag of fries or chicken wings; about half way though the cook time I just shake them around and they come out perfect every time. I am still in complete amazement that after cooking chicken wings or french fries which can get very greasy, there is hardly any grease left behind. What I love even better than the size is how easy it is to clean. It literally just wipes right out, no scrubbing is ever involved. If someone is in the market for a new air fryer I would definitely recommend this air fryer over any. I am so impressed with this air fryer, that is has now become my new favorite appliance out of everything

I had my concerns about this little air flyer’s capability, but it’s been a great addition to our home. Easy to make meals quickly, cleans up nicely, and stores with ease. Back story. I rent a house with my boyfriend and 2 other people. One day our oven stopped working and it took our landlord FOREVER to replace it (2 months to be exact).
