This is a fun item and it works. You can cook your hot dogs and warm your bun all at once. No need to run the oven nor the microwave. And best of all they always come out just right. Great for parties and for after school snacks. I love that it is retro style which goes well with some other items I have like the popcorn maker too. It is certainly a conversation piece. Highly recommend

This toaster makes for quick and easy hot dogs. It requires that the dog is thawed to begin. It cooks the dog fairly evenly and thoroughly. Like a bread toaster it has a time settings adjustment knob (but even the highest setting—which I use—doesn’t burn the dog). It doesn’t do a very good job on the hot dog bun. Instead of hot wires (as in a bread toaster) it has a hot plate configuration which tends to toast just small portions of the edges of the buns. This is probably best suited for kids preparing their own dogs, but certainly is a quick and easy way for anyone to prep a quick meal or snack hot dog.

The hot dogs swell up and are hard to remove unless you let them cool a bit. The edges of the bun burn before the center is hot. The bottom cover is not removable to clean the greasy residue from the hot dog. Must wipe with cloth.

Sausage hot dogs roasted hot , buns were toasted pretty good, but edges were burnt. Whereas, I learned thru trial and error to calibrate the temperature down. Overall, the grandchildren enjoyed the dogs. Cleaning tray was accessible to cleaning debris from cooking.

The Retro Series Pop-Up Hot Dog Toaster works very well, The bun part really does not brown the bun, it just gets the inside of the bun a hardened white tan. I found it best to put buns in for about 30 sec’s then add the hot dogs and cycle thru on high setting (5). Its a great item for a fast hot dog, It tastes better then boiling or microwaving. the grand kids love it.

I am not a hot dog fan. It was an impulse buy. It does what they said it would!

This RETRO SERIES POP-UP HOT DOG TOASTER is one of those products that caught my interest. Unique because it can cook/grill a hot dog just like if you would pop a piece of bread in a regular toaster, just that easy! It’s best to let the unit run a few times to burn off the manufacturing oils that exist on most heating types of appliances. Use regular dogs not the ones that plump when you cook them (they expand a little too much and will get stuck)! Other than that it’s works as described.

This is a cool appliance that you really don’t think you’ll use a lot until you have it.Out of the box this is ready to cook. Just insert the dog holder and you’re ready to go.It has a cool red glittery case like a 57 Chevy retro look. I like it. Fits any decor.Cooking is simple, you insert two buns, one one each side and then stick two hot dogs into the center cage, set your cook mode on the front and then drop the lever just like a toaster does. No different.I discovered that level 5, maximum, is the best setting for all weiners. Anything less and they come out luke warm. Level five cooks then all the way through. This will fit regular dogs, thick plumpers and even presmoked brat type dogs. It will not cook raw dogs, only the packaged type that just need to be heated up.I use this about once a week and it always works fine. I really like it. I’d recommend it to any hot dog connoisseur.

It has a burning smell every time it’s used.I guess the coils are to close to food. Regardless, the older kids enjoy using it, since there’s no cleanup involved!

Pretty much gimmicky. Cooks the dogs ok but burns the buns if you try to get them toasting looking!
