The Nostalgia RTOS200 Retro Series 2-Slice Bagel Toaster is a powerful 750-Watt toaster equipped to handle any of your toasting needs. Designed to accommodate a variety of breads, two large toasting slots provide ample room for toasting everything from thick slices of bread to bagels. Adjust the doneness by choosing from five browning levels for lightly or darkly toasted bread. Also featured are defrost and cancel options, along with a bagel button that automatically adjusts the toasting time for thicker breads like bagels and English muffins. Each control button illuminates when pressed for easy recognition.

The classic ’50’s design adds a bit of fun nostalgia to your kitchen and its cranberry red color is fitting for that era. Its exterior and the control knobs are all made of plastic which don’t get hot, just warm; only its top is made of metal. I like the slots on the bottom which allow you to wrap up the excess cord so that it stays out of the way. The pull out/removable tray makes it easy to clean out the crumbs but just be sure you hold the toaster over the sink or the trash can when you slide it out as there are no sides on the tray. On its bagel setting, just one side toasts, so that is also great for hamburger buns and English muffins. All the buttons have indicator lights to confirm your selections. Though the dial is numbered from 1 to 5, you can turn it to any place in between for browning. However, performance is just so so. The defrost function does work well as does the bagel setting. But browning is a little off from one side to the other. The darkness settings from “1” through “3” hardly do anything and you need at least “4” to get a medium brown result. And every time when the toast is done, the pop up feature has a rather lazy spring so it barely comes up. As a result, you have to finish pushing the handle up to the top and hold it there while you grab the toast.I really like the appearance of this toaster – I just wished it worked as good as it looks.
