I was disappointed when it first came and would not fit on my lathe. However i bought an adaptor and everything is fine now. You ought to make a note in your advertising that the chuck will not fit on a 1″ dia 8 pitch thread without an adaptor. As a matter of fact it ought to come with the chuck.

The chuck needed an adapter to fit the Nova II lathe, which wasn’t clear until the chuck arrived without one. After I purchased and installed the adapter, it worked quite well. It does tend to work the locking screw loose with vibration and then allows the work swing out of line. However, once retightened, it is fine. I haven’t tried the bowl attachment jaws yet, but will as soon as I get ready to work on the bottom of the bowl.

A great. Wood chuck.. Own several but wanted to dedicate one to a specific jaw set. Checked out the competion.. Ans durpecto a single blog note saying you can buy it from bedsbuy.. I took a look. Bought the chcuck and two sets of jaws .. Free shipping.. Total cost was cheapervthan the other two chain woodworking places in my area…plus free shipping! Got in in a couple of days.. Didn’t have to make the long trek to the wood working place.. Great value, fast easy..

This chuck is what I call a mainstay chuck. Actually I have 4 of them and would not consider turning without them. Yes, they are that good. As far as buying the same set of jaws well, I don’t like that but that is the admission ticket. There are a few chucks held in higher esteem but now we are talking some real cash. Buy at least two of them so you can enjoy that good ole’ interchangeability card. You won’t be sorry.

This is a great chuck design which allows for repeatable retooling of the same part to the same tolerances over and over again. I am impressed with this and was a pre-requisite for purchase…. I now own two NOVA chucks which allows me the time savings of jaw changes and reduced time to complete the planned projects..
