I love these little chucks. I use them on a WEN 8″ x 12″ lathe and they are a good size for small work. I’ve used them to hold pieces to make goblets and bowls. You need to use a steady rest for longer pieces, but I think that is to be expected. They are a little tough to expand and contract the jaws one-handed since you have 2 rods to open and close rather than a key. I’ve used the wood screw, the dovetail jaws as well as the cole plates and the pen plus jaws and I am very happy. Just ordered the 3″ jaws for added support on goblets.

This chuck is perfect for my small 10 x 18 lathe. The only issue i have with it is the tightening using two tiny bars. The larger ones use a single t-bar wrench. Must check tightness regularly. I had mine come lose while turning. Well worth the miney, if you have a small lathe i highly recommend.

I NOW HAVE THREE OF THESE CHUCKS AND HAVE BEEN VERY HAPPY WITH THEM. ONCE YOU GET USE TO THE TOMMY BARS FOR ADJUSTMENT, THEY ARE AN EXCELLENT CHUCK.
