I had to buy this as i was doing my first bowl type turning, which turned into like a mini urn type of turning. Anyways, i have had my Ridgid lathe since Jan 2000, always wanted to learn bowl type of turning, got hurt by a flying piece of wood, didn’t use the lathe for about 8 or so years till now. So i bought the Nova chuck last year and went to start my bowl. Then learned i needed the 100mm chuck jaws so ordered this set and the Nova vase jaws. This set clamped on my foot from the outside, which is what i feel is better holding power then holding from the inside. It is of normal Nova quality and is a beautifully machined set.

I have had the Nova Chuck for years and use it quite a bit, how ever the jaw set that came with the chuck would only handle a 1 1/2″ clamp, and when you turn an item larger than about 5″-6″ in diameter there is the potential for the jaw to come loose. So I purchased this larger set for larger turnings. I have used them several times and the work fine and give me a better feeling of wood attachment security.

Works pretty good. Shaft on wrench is too short when used with Nova Cole jaws. Technatool was unresponsive when contacted. Had to remake the wrench.
