Thanks to a polycarbonate inner shell, internal foam padding, synthetic rubber cover, and a touchscreen-compatible screen protector, the black Defender Series Case from Otterbox delivers three-layered, 360° protection for your iPad mini 4. Installation is literally a snap, as is attaching the shield stand to the front or back of the case. For typing or viewing videos, simply place the bottom edge of the Defender Case inside the shield stand and adjust the built-in support as required. Well-designed, the Defender Case may be used with or without its shield. Best of all, case cutouts and port plugs protect and provide access to the iPad mini’s controls and functions. If you want maximum protection for your device this is the way to go. The case looks great and fits like a glove. The only complaints that I have are it’s bulky and the power / rocker buttons are a little stiff … but overall I really like it.

Im very happy with the protection provided by this case as well as the usefulness of the stand. The flap that protects the lightning port put too much pressure on the cord so I removed the flap.

This thing is so solid and well.built and also I like the fact that the lid serves also as a stand with two positions, also it adds a great style, I thought it would look ugly on my iPad but not at all , just what I would have liked is that it would had been less.bulky so it can fit in my peak designs everyday sling better but Ill have to buy just another cover like a clear one for it to pass thru better, without getting semistuck , but asides from.that Im.bery happy with it , its just a thing that looks and feels so well.made you just trust it with your iPad as soon as you take it out the box , its worth every penny but I would have liked it to cost no more than 50.or 60 at Max but the other side of this deal is that this thing looks as.itll last forever so I think of it as a very good inversion

My wife has an older iPad mini 1 with an old Defender Case that has seen better days (my wife can be somewhat hard on her gear). Without any rhyme or reason the iPad could not be powered up or powered off. I removed the old Defender case and the iPad worked fine. So I ordered a new Defender Case which has obviously been revised and improved, especially around the power button. The new Defender Case has a beefier build and functions flawlessly. The iPad mini looks brand spanking new at a fraction of a full replacement cost. Long story short: happy wife.

I use my ipad for work as a musician so I need a case like the iPad Air 2 Defender by Otterbox. It is a great case and seems to protect my ipad just fine. The screen and thumbprint thing work great. But.. the crushed damson color is actually hot pink. It is very distracting to have a glowing pink edge to something I am trying to watch or read. I returned it for a store credit and found a nice black one.

Overall, I very much like this case. It has saved my phone numerous times already from falls on hard floors. I actually like the reduced sensitivity on the edges of the screen, as I was always triggering something I didn’t want when grabbing it on the edge of the phone. The biggest down side is that it’s much more difficult to swipe down from the top of the screen to get at options/notifications. If they had just widened the exposed screen area a hair more, it would work so much better! One more thing – the holster rides high on the hip. The leather case I had before had the clip at the top of the case, rather than centered. I know that they did it to allow for rotation for vertical and horizontal clipping, but it does get in the way sometimes being so high.

I dropped my BlackBerry more times than I can count. So when I switched to an iPhone, I knew I needed something more than a pretty, thin case. I think this OtterBox is pretty, and although it’s not as sleek as some others, I know it will protect my phone. Hard inner case, soft covering. The resulting size makes the clip too much to be useful, but I never used a clip anyway. More than one person has gone looking for this case online after they saw mine.

I don’t worry about a two year old now picking it up and dropping it. There is a cover that snaps over the screen if you need for travel in a bag. You need to remove the cover for the screen though if you are taking a photo with the iPad. That cover for the screen also can snap on the back of the iPad so you don’t love it. This may be difficult of you have arthritis in the hands.

I love this case. The phone seems extremely well protected. I like that it’s grippy because it doesn’t slip out of my hands easily. As I don’t use the holster, it isn’t too bulky for me. And the plastic cover over the glass is a huge plus and doesn’t interfere with the sensitivity of the glass.
