Thanks to a polycarbonate inner shell, internal foam padding, synthetic rubber cover, and a touchscreen-compatible screen protector, the black Defender Series Case from Otterbox delivers three-layered, 360° protection for your iPad mini 4. Installation is literally a snap, as is attaching the shield stand to the front or back of the case. For typing or viewing videos, simply place the bottom edge of the Defender Case inside the shield stand and adjust the built-in support as required. I have an Otterbox Defender for my iPhone so naturally, I wanted one for my Ipad Mini 4. I really like the color but I have to say that these are much harder to put on than putting one on an iPhone. I had trouble getting it apart and it was difficult to make sure it was clean before snapping in the top case. I like the stand for it; I wish my iPhone had that. I definitely recommend this case if you want superior protection for your Ipad Mini 4.

This case has worked out well for me so far. It has allowed my 6+ to survive two minor drops so far, with no damage to my phone or the case. But; it does have some what might be called flaws! You have to tap the keys a little more direct, and slightly harder. In your phone, when trying to use the directory/contacts list; you can not use the letter scale on the side bar! The large/wide case frame is too close to the letter’s on the sidebar, and it will not respond to your touch, or tapping! Also; the pull down cover for the charging port interfear’s with putting the charging tip into the port on the phone. If you are not watching carefully, and very careful with exactly where you are placing the charging cords tip: you’ll place it between the back cover of the phone case, and the back inside cover of the Defender case, marring the finish of the phones case. To say nothing of the fact that the phone will not be charging. (Yes the phone does respond with a tone when properly connected to the charging cord.) But, I would think there possibly could be a hazard with an electrical cord plugged in, and touching the metal case of the iPhone when not put into the charging port properly? Also, the Defender case is rather large and bulky. And when used with the plastic snap in belt clip: very bulky & rather heavy. But again: you should have known this before your purchase? If you had a chance to see and handle a Defender case beforehand. Even with all it’s annoying flaw’s; the Defender case has served me well. Seems like nothing is ever perfect in this world. Would I recommend it to a friend? Only if they were aware of all it’s flaw’s, and could live with all of them?

Pros: Good product for the price I paid. It’s like phone armor. It covers the entire phone really well and gives me the confidence that it will protect my phone. Cons: Didn’t come with clear instructions. Taking it apart for first time was almost like a rubiks cube. I was afraid I might damage the product right out of the box because I didn’t know where to pull it apart and open it up. I had to look up a video online. It also takes away from the sleekness of the iphone (but I kind of expected that before purchase). And one last thing… the teal color wasn’t as sharp looking as it appears in the photo, but I’m still ok with it.

I bought this case of course to protect my iPad but I also got a great stand in the process. Before I was using Apple’s Smart Cover and it worked for a while but it started falling apart so I figured it was time to replace it. I ordered the OB Defender case and chose free shipping, it said I could expect the product in approximately 8 days… It arrived in 5 so that made me very happy. It was a little funny to get open but at least I know my case won’t be falling off so that’s hardly worth mentioning. I got my iPad ready, put it in the back side of the shell, it fit perfect. Put the screen side over and it fit perfectly, there was no wasting hours trying, but failing, to put on a screen cover. It fit perfect and aligned perfect. The silicone shell fit great and feels great to hold. It added a bit of bulk to the iPad but it actually makes it easier to hold and I’m not as worried about holding it one handed any more. The plastic screen protector works great and the 3 levels of the stand are at just the right angles everything from typing to watching videos and doing FaceTime. It does a great job of keeping the screen safe as well.

My case arrived today!! I love the rich dark pink color and the lighter dark pink look so pretty together. Much better in person than it shows online. I’ve had my new iPad mini 4 for at least three weeks or more waiting for the case to be released and then to arrive as I refuse to chance damage without the case!! All of my past as well as all future Apple products will have an otter case!!! I dropped my first gen iPad mini from the top of a three story staircase, it landed screen side down other than a few scratches on the otter box the mini was fine!!!! Of course I’d not make habit of doing so but when a dog larger than you wants to “go for a car ride” it’s best to have both hands free!!!

I bought this for my daughter who got an Ipad from grandma. I was so nervous since she is so young and while responsible, is still a child with such an expensive gift. She uses it for school so I worried about it rattling around in her backpack. Now that the Ipad is safe and snug in this case, I don’t worry. I trust this will keep it as safe as my Otterbox has kept my phone over the last 3 years–especially when borrowed for selfies by all my girls. p.s. She and her friends “loved, loved, loved” the berry color. p.s.s. Thanks to the mom at customer service who grabbed this and the other case I was considering and walked me through deciding which one would be more kid-proof. Love that customer service!!!

I travel with work every weekend. With this Otter Box I can toss it in my backpack and not worry about it. It adds a bit of bulk to the iPad but if you want it protected, then that is the trade off.

Was not able to open the otter box to put the iPad into it.The printed directions were not helpful.Tried you tube videos and otterbox company was unavailable for assistance due to covid. A B&H customer service rep was great in trying to help me but I just couldn’t get it opened. The otterbox cases are great but their directions are not. Sadly, I am returning the item.
