If you’re thinking of defending your 9.7" iPad Pro from much of what life has to throw at it, then it may be worth considering a black Defender Series Case from Otterbox. This case features a two-piece polycarbonate inner shell surrounded by a synthetic rubber outer layer for additional shock protection against drops, bumps, and scratches.
Attached to the outer rubber layer are port plugs that help guard against dust. A clear polyurethane screen protector is built into the inner shell to help shield your touchscreen against scratches, scrapes, and scuffs, without diminishing the display’s visibility. Internal foam cushions the back of the tablet while keeping it from moving around inside the case.
The included shield stand snaps onto the front of the case for added touchscreen protection during transport. When not needed for protection, it may be snapped onto the back of the case. The inside of the shield stand has a built-in foldaway stand for viewing movies or typing, functioning in both portrait and landscape modes. There’s also built-in storage for an optional Apple Pencil.

very sturdy and I didn’t know how much I would like the removable case/stand, but it’s awesome. I don’t know what an S Pen is, but it wasn’t included, and I’m not sure where the holder is for it either. But the product is great!

Got this case for new iPad Air 2. Had to look around online for the installation instructions. Would be nice if they include different a small screen cleaning cloth. The case is longer than the iPad but this seems intentional. The charging receptacle is recessed but easily accessed. There is a screen cover and a hard shell cover which can go over screen (when placed in a bag, avoid scratching). Also a small stand inside that cover, nice addition. Former user of griffin survivor case- I like this better with that hard cover.

I like it. As usual you can’t go wrong with the purchase of an Otterbox case. One thing I did notice that bothered me was when using it as a stand it sits up more straight and is snug as opposed to my iPad 4 Otterbox case. I personally like more of a slight lean when watching things on it.

Nice and rugged, but took tools to snap it together because the fit is that tight: There are two holes in the screen protector in the top corners that are for nothing other than to let dust and moisture under the cover, nice job look at the photo

Very protective case but it tends to block the sound to the microphone for talking on the phone. I have the same problem on my iPhone 6s+ OtterBox case. I had to drill a hole near the microphone in the OtterBox case to get my other phone to work.

I like the case overall but the light censor holes at the top on either side of the front camera seem very vulnerable as there is no depth between the screen and exposure. Not really sure why that is considering previous version seemed to have covered that area better. Also I feel like not having the case available at the launch of the product it’s used for really gives competitors who have similar cases a huge advantage, many where out at on the date the 9.7 inch iPad Pro released and where much cheaper.
