If you’re thinking of defending your 9.7" iPad Pro from much of what life has to throw at it, then it may be worth considering a black Defender Series Case from Otterbox. This case features a two-piece polycarbonate inner shell surrounded by a synthetic rubber outer layer for additional shock protection against drops, bumps, and scratches.
Attached to the outer rubber layer are port plugs that help guard against dust. A clear polyurethane screen protector is built into the inner shell to help shield your touchscreen against scratches, scrapes, and scuffs, without diminishing the display’s visibility. Internal foam cushions the back of the tablet while keeping it from moving around inside the case.
The included shield stand snaps onto the front of the case for added touchscreen protection during transport. When not needed for protection, it may be snapped onto the back of the case. The inside of the shield stand has a built-in foldaway stand for viewing movies or typing, functioning in both portrait and landscape modes. There’s also built-in storage for an optional Apple Pencil.

I absolutely love this case for the iPad Pro (9.7) It’s a bit pricey but I guess it’ll be worth it in the long run. The feel is great and it’s light weight. The stand works nicely. The screen protector seems to work fine. I haven’t purchased the Apple Pencil yet to give a review on the attached holder on the stand but I plan to purchase the Apple Pencil soon to put the attached holder to use. The color very berry is beautiful especially for the Rose Gold iPad color. This case is perfect! I highly recommend it.

Hi I am just wondering have you gotten any feed back about the 9.7 covers not fitting . I have ordered 2 covers and they don’t fit perfectly. I think it’s the iPad and not the cover .

I’ve been using Otterbox products since the iPhone 3. When I bought a new iPad Pro 9.7, I immediately bought a new otterbox iPad case. My old otterbox iPad case was bulky and round, but did all it was suppose to do. This new case is extremely thin and lightweight. The case allows for amazing sound from all 4 iPad speakers and protects the camera while allowing it to work perfectly. No issues with the flash or quality. The case allows you to use the Touch ID should you choose to do so. I also use the ipencil daily. I was a little worried about the screen protector causing problems with the pencils ability to be accurate or cause some offset when writing or drawing. But there are no issues at all. Works great. When you first use the pencil over the screen protector. There will be some areas that want to “grab” the pencil. In other words, the ipencil will glide smoothly and then hit an area where it doesn’t want to move as easily. But all of these areas went away after a few days of using the otterbox. The screen protector will have a watery look when the iPad is not on but you see none of this when using the iPad. It’s just part of having a built in screen protector which is a must have. Now like any new otterbox case, it can be a little hard to open the first time you open it. But look at the directions included and it is simple once you realize what to do. Once the iPad is in, it’s a very secure fit. The hard shell cover that comes with the case is great. It adds protection when packing your iPad for travel and has a built in stand for watching videos. Truly a great feature. Members of my family also have iPads but didn’t want to pay the money when there were budget cases available. Those cases all failed in short order. There is no question otterbox is the best when it comes to protecting your electronics. I’ve used otterbox cases since the iPhone 3 and iPad 2. They are rock solid and worth every penny.

Great function, really protects. Pen works. Great feel in the hand. Only weakness is cover design. Hard to get on and off, I don’t use it anymore, don’t even know where it is. Would be great I’d there was a better solution for front protection and holding the pen. But the basic case is great.

Love the case except the window over the apple is not right on the iPad. The first time I let my daughter use it, I noticed a couple of dents in the window. I am so sad about this!!! I think it is attractive to children because it acts like a kind of drum area. Hope that makes sense. Other than that, I love the case 🙂

This is the ONLY product that offers all-around protection and has a screen that you don’t have to fumble with, trying to put it on. The case also doubles as a computer stand. But what I really like is the case is two parts. The computer stand part, when no in use snaps securely to the front of the iPad, this giving front, back, and side protection to the iPad. If the iPad is dropped the screen won’t be touched. I shattered an iPad 2 that was in a case but that case had no support for the screen. It was dropped, face first, onto a slate floor. Had it been protected in an Otterbox the shattering would have never happened.

I have an Otterbox Defender for my iPhone so naturally, I wanted one for my Ipad Mini 4. I really like the color but I have to say that these are much harder to put on than putting one on an iPhone. I had trouble getting it apart and it was difficult to make sure it was clean before snapping in the top case. I like the stand for it; I wish my iPhone had that. I definitely recommend this case if you want superior protection for your Ipad Mini 4.

After much searching around and watching hundreds of YouTube review videos on the Otterbox Defender case for the ipad 12.9″ Pro 2021 5th Generation I found out that there are two versions of this case on the market. The newer screenless version and this one which includes a built in screen protector. This one, in my opinion is the better of the two. And B&H Photo is the only place that actually has it in stock!! Trust me I did look around. I’m pretty sure that the other version without the built in screen protector is also really good because they are designed and built the same exact way, with the exception of one having a screen protector and the other not having one. Installing the iPad 12.9″ Pro 2021 5th generation was pretty easy. There are many YouTube videos that can assist you with this. The cover that comes with the case also has a built in stand and the cover acts as a protector for the screen of the iPad when not in use. The case is not that bully to be honest and honest he moment you put your iPad into it you will feel an immense sense of satisfaction. The iPad Pro is a pretty expensive device so you want this Otterbox Defender case over anything else law on the market

I own a Handyman service and my Technicians all use iPad’s in the field and in their vans. This Defender case is the best protective case I have ever seen for an electronic device. A Handyman job can be like a small construction site and my guys are constantly laying the iPad around the job site. I have not had one failure of an iPad since I encased them with the Defender case. When your devices are in a rough and tumble environment I highly recommend the Defender case to keep them safe from breakage.

Purchased directly from Otter to ensure that I received the real thing – had concerns about cheaper sellers online, from what I was reading in the comments. Case fits great, no issues with screen sensitivity or ports being in the wrong place. Feels very substantial in my big, clumsy hands – a huge improvement over a thin case I was using previously. I’m taking my iPad on a 2500 mile bike adventure, and counting on this case to keep it safe (and dry) on the trip. It certainly looks and feels like it will work well.
