If you’re thinking of defending your 9.7" iPad Pro from much of what life has to throw at it, then it may be worth considering a black Defender Series Case from Otterbox. This case features a two-piece polycarbonate inner shell surrounded by a synthetic rubber outer layer for additional shock protection against drops, bumps, and scratches.
Attached to the outer rubber layer are port plugs that help guard against dust. A clear polyurethane screen protector is built into the inner shell to help shield your touchscreen against scratches, scrapes, and scuffs, without diminishing the display’s visibility. Internal foam cushions the back of the tablet while keeping it from moving around inside the case.
The included shield stand snaps onto the front of the case for added touchscreen protection during transport. When not needed for protection, it may be snapped onto the back of the case. The inside of the shield stand has a built-in foldaway stand for viewing movies or typing, functioning in both portrait and landscape modes. There’s also built-in storage for an optional Apple Pencil.

I get an otterbox for every Apple product I buy. So naturally I had to purchase this ! The shipping and unboxing was superb . The case itself was really great . Sturdy and well built with the new design and newly added grip on the sides adding a really nice touch. My only complaint is on the top of the case it seems that the audio holes were not cut out fully like the bottom. But besides that the case is excellent as expected from otterbox !

Case fit perfect on the iPad3. A bit difficult to get the poly case open at first but it all assembled just right. Have used other Otterbox products and again this one does not disappoint. Reaction on screen is a bit delayed because of the screen protector when using stylus but worth it for the protection the case offers.

This is a good, solid case. I gave it 4 stars because of the design. I have several Otterbox Defender cases and this is the only one that is not straight across the top. The top right and left corners are notched, exposing the screen saver there. Also, where the screen saver is exposed at the corners there is a small round hole punched in the screen saver. The holes in the screen saver are small, but the iPad’s bezel is exposed there. This is an odd and distracting design. All of my other Otterbox Defender cases completely surround the bezel and any cutouts are in the polycarbonate shell and not the screen protector. I recently purchased the Otterbox Defender for the new iPad Pro 2,12.9″. This case is designed correctly. Square frame completely surrounding the bezel with the cutouts in the polycarbonate. Great case. Had this case looked like the 9.7″ pro case, I would not have purchased it. I would have gotten another brand. I hope in the future, Otterbox sticks to there tried and true design and not this aberration.

My 11 year old son just got a new iPad Air 2. We bought him the Otter Box Defender case because is provides the best protection at a decent price. In fact, this is his 2nd Otter Box Defender case. The first one was for his 4 year old iPad Mini. Both cases are well made and hold up in all conditions. A friend of my son’s scratched the screen protector with a stylus. We called Otter Box and they happily shipped us a new one at no cost. I am impressed with both the products and the company. I ordered this product from another site first and got an obvious fake. I came to B and H for the quality and service that I have always gotten from them. The price was very good and the product is great! The case fits well and all of the small flaps close well. The only one complaint is that the case is a bit bulky so the phone wont fit in many chargers and speakers with the case on. But I’m willing to sacrifice that for the protection that it provides!
