If you’re thinking of defending your 9.7" iPad Pro from much of what life has to throw at it, then it may be worth considering a black Defender Series Case from Otterbox. This case features a two-piece polycarbonate inner shell surrounded by a synthetic rubber outer layer for additional shock protection against drops, bumps, and scratches.
Attached to the outer rubber layer are port plugs that help guard against dust. A clear polyurethane screen protector is built into the inner shell to help shield your touchscreen against scratches, scrapes, and scuffs, without diminishing the display’s visibility. Internal foam cushions the back of the tablet while keeping it from moving around inside the case.
The included shield stand snaps onto the front of the case for added touchscreen protection during transport. When not needed for protection, it may be snapped onto the back of the case. The inside of the shield stand has a built-in foldaway stand for viewing movies or typing, functioning in both portrait and landscape modes. There’s also built-in storage for an optional Apple Pencil.

This is exactly what I was looking for! I have two todlers in my house and I needed something to protect my (very expensive) ipad. You can tell once you put it on, it will do its job. This case does make the ipad a bit heavy, but it is expected. My only two complaints are the outer case and the color of the case. The outer case is perfect for holding the ipad up and to type, but it is a bit tedious to remove it everytime i want to use the camera. I wish the outer case had a hole for the camara so I could use it easily and actually put it on the ipad when i take it out. My other complaint is the colors this case comes in. Come on! It’s so unfair that the cases for the ipad air come in all sets of different colors and all we get is black and blind your eyes fuscia. If these two things don’t bother you than this is the case for you. Its sturdy and perfect to protect your device from any falls or accidents

Was not able to open the otter box to put the iPad into it.The printed directions were not helpful.Tried you tube videos and otterbox company was unavailable for assistance due to covid. A B&H customer service rep was great in trying to help me but I just couldn’t get it opened. The otterbox cases are great but their directions are not. Sadly, I am returning the item.

I recently purchased an Otter Box Defender case for my new 9.7-inch iPad Pro. The case fits quite well and it looks professional. When I purchased the case, I was originally concerned that I may need to remove the clear plastic protector over the screen in order to make sure the Apple pen will work. However, when I performed a writing test using the Apple pen with and without Otter Box’s clear plastic protector, I found no difference in the quality of the writing. Furthermore, with or without the protector, I could write all of the way out to the edges of the screen, and there was no delay in how quickly the writing appeared on the screen. The case is well made, and the protector fits flat against the Apple iPad Pro’s screen.

This case is easy to handle and a great investment protector. The shell is easy to remove and put back on. The port covers are great protectors and won’t ever rip and/or fall off from wear and tear. My screen is fully protected from any scrapes or cracks. I love how my apple logo is able to be seen.

Overall, I very much like this case. It has saved my phone numerous times already from falls on hard floors. I actually like the reduced sensitivity on the edges of the screen, as I was always triggering something I didn’t want when grabbing it on the edge of the phone. The biggest down side is that it’s much more difficult to swipe down from the top of the screen to get at options/notifications. If they had just widened the exposed screen area a hair more, it would work so much better! One more thing – the holster rides high on the hip. The leather case I had before had the clip at the top of the case, rather than centered. I know that they did it to allow for rotation for vertical and horizontal clipping, but it does get in the way sometimes being so high.
