If you’re thinking of defending your 9.7" iPad Pro from much of what life has to throw at it, then it may be worth considering a black Defender Series Case from Otterbox. This case features a two-piece polycarbonate inner shell surrounded by a synthetic rubber outer layer for additional shock protection against drops, bumps, and scratches.
Attached to the outer rubber layer are port plugs that help guard against dust. A clear polyurethane screen protector is built into the inner shell to help shield your touchscreen against scratches, scrapes, and scuffs, without diminishing the display’s visibility. Internal foam cushions the back of the tablet while keeping it from moving around inside the case.
The included shield stand snaps onto the front of the case for added touchscreen protection during transport. When not needed for protection, it may be snapped onto the back of the case. The inside of the shield stand has a built-in foldaway stand for viewing movies or typing, functioning in both portrait and landscape modes. There’s also built-in storage for an optional Apple Pencil.

I put the case on my daughter’s iPad and it is resisting falls and bumps very well. Hence the high rating. The only downside is that she is not using all the components because it can get a bit bulky… Not a big deal for us…

I bought this in Very Berry a couple of weeks ago for my brand new rose-gold IPad Pro. Works like a charm. I’ve dropped it a couple of times and it’s kept my device fully protected. The only downside is that you have to remove the outer most layer of the case to use the kickstand to prop up the device. It’s an extra step I’d rather not have to take, but it works nonetheless.

Otter Box doesn’t disappoint. I bought this a month ago for my iPad and it protects it nicely. I affixed a glass screen saver so I removed the clear plastic top cover and used adhesive remover to clean off excess adhesive and then I washed it with warm soapy water. It looks great! Thanks Otter Box!

It is too difficult to take apart when it comes out of the box, useful on a desk, or lap, however troublesome when traveling especially by plane, again too difficult to take apart and put back together with the tablet.

I have owned Otterbox products for the last 9 years and they have done a fantastic job protecting our smartphones. Based on that, I ordered a unit to protect an iPad Pro and at this time I would strongly recommend this product if you intended to use it for work in the field. This unit is replacing the original covers from Apple which due to heavy use were coming apart after 3 years of daily use. The Otterbox for sure would have outlasted the Apple cover, works well with is own stand and other alternate stands but the overall combined weight of the unit is just too much to carry with one hand.

I have used Defender cases on my phones for years with great results. That’s why I ordered one for my iPad. But I was disappointed with the fit. It was very tight getting it to snap together and the screen protector would not sit touching the screen. So using the iPad, I had to mash the protector until it touched the screen before it would “click” on anything on the screen. So I ended up peeling the screen protector off of an expensive case just to make it fit & work properly. This is disappointing after spending this much money on a case and having such good fit for my iPhones that I’ve had.

Sturdy case for Ipad Pro. I like the fact that it has a hard case front cover that covers the Ipad screen when you aren’t using it. Very good extra protection for the screen. I also like that the front hard cover can be used as a stand for the tablet when you are using it. That saves buying a stand for the tablet. Only minor problem is that when you first start using the hard front cover, it is a little hard to take off and put on because it is a tight fit. However, after using it for awhile it loosens up a little bit and it gets much easier to take off and put on but it is still a nice, tight fit so that the cover won’t come off if you drop it.

This is a fantastic fit for my iPad mini 2. I purchased it because the Defender case has protected my iPhone during many drops. I found it easier to put on the device than the Griffin brand Survivor cases I use on my children’s older iPads. It does add some weight/bulk to the device but essential protection with travel and children. I like that the kick stand has two positions too.
