If you’re thinking of defending your 9.7" iPad Pro from much of what life has to throw at it, then it may be worth considering a black Defender Series Case from Otterbox. This case features a two-piece polycarbonate inner shell surrounded by a synthetic rubber outer layer for additional shock protection against drops, bumps, and scratches.
Attached to the outer rubber layer are port plugs that help guard against dust. A clear polyurethane screen protector is built into the inner shell to help shield your touchscreen against scratches, scrapes, and scuffs, without diminishing the display’s visibility. Internal foam cushions the back of the tablet while keeping it from moving around inside the case.
The included shield stand snaps onto the front of the case for added touchscreen protection during transport. When not needed for protection, it may be snapped onto the back of the case. The inside of the shield stand has a built-in foldaway stand for viewing movies or typing, functioning in both portrait and landscape modes. There’s also built-in storage for an optional Apple Pencil.

Every Apple product I own is in an OtterBox. I wouldn’t have it. Any other way. The amount of money I have invested in Apple products it would be a shame if any of them got damaged… the OtterBox is the best protection for them. I highly recommend getting an OtterBox.

I bought this case of course to protect my iPad but I also got a great stand in the process. Before I was using Apple’s Smart Cover and it worked for a while but it started falling apart so I figured it was time to replace it. I ordered the OB Defender case and chose free shipping, it said I could expect the product in approximately 8 days… It arrived in 5 so that made me very happy. It was a little funny to get open but at least I know my case won’t be falling off so that’s hardly worth mentioning. I got my iPad ready, put it in the back side of the shell, it fit perfect. Put the screen side over and it fit perfectly, there was no wasting hours trying, but failing, to put on a screen cover. It fit perfect and aligned perfect. The silicone shell fit great and feels great to hold. It added a bit of bulk to the iPad but it actually makes it easier to hold and I’m not as worried about holding it one handed any more. The plastic screen protector works great and the 3 levels of the stand are at just the right angles everything from typing to watching videos and doing FaceTime. It does a great job of keeping the screen safe as well.

The Defender Case is really good for certain things. We find it invaluable in the office, where many people are handling the iPad. Personal use wouldn’t require such a heavy duty case though.

Very durable case. It has a flip up stand in the front cover that works very well. It’s a little pricy but we’ll worth it. The only issue I had was I was using a Square credit card reader that plugs into the headphone Jack, but the case has some plastic that will not allow me to plug in the reader all the way, so I have to remove the case in order to use the reader. I purchased a headphone extension cable to resolve that issue.

Well-made and durable, and sold at a good price. It should do a good job of protecting my smartphone. Outer shell is grippy but still goes into and out of a pants pocket easier than a gel cover.

Really love my otter box defender case for iPad 7th generation. Is a little pricey though. I like the fact that is has both vertical and horizontal positions on the case with a built in screen protector. Otter box products are the best I received my order sooner than expected too!! Great service

Perfect fit for my new 9.7 iPad Pro. The only caveat is that a very thin iPad becomes bulky once this case is installed. It’s a Defender Case, though, and that’s exactly what it does. I’ve had other Otterbox Defender products and they really protect the device from impacts and liquids. It is well worth the money for the piece of mind that it provides.

I have owned Otterbox Defender series cases for iPad 2, iPad Air and iPad Air 2. This is by far the best Defender series case ever made. While it maintains the rugged qualities you have come to expect from the Defender series, they have succeeded in making the case thin enough as to not burden the user and take away from the experience of the iPad Pro. I love this case.
