Little heavy for a lot of people especially my 84 year old mom. The charging port is hard for her to install or remove charging cable. We had to take off hard plastic stand. I am confident when she drops iPad it will survive the drop. I would not buy this again for elderly person but I would buy for myself in a heartbeat Before COVID I would be able to exchange for different cover

This Otterbox Defender case for iPad Air is great! You can just tell when you install your iPad inside of it that you are getting the best protection. The screen protector built into it does not interfere with use at all as you can barely even tell there is a screen protector. The case is really three pieces as you attach it to an included stand face down when not using it. The stand works great as well. I haven’t dropped it yet, but feel this case would provide good protection if I were to drop it.

Used this in the field for archaeological recording and it’s quite good. I am hard on all of my equipment as I am climbing boulders and working in hard environs. When I dropped the iPad, and the case protected it just fine (it bounced). Very pleased with this product and feel confident my iPad is secure when its in weather. It is a little heavy, but it protects.

If you want maximum protection for your device this is the way to go. The case looks great and fits like a glove. The only complaints that I have are it’s bulky and the power / rocker buttons are a little stiff … but overall I really like it.

I had an otterbox defender for a motorola atrix hd for 2 years before trading up to a Galaxy S5. The old defender did well for me other than starting to stretch a bit at the end. This new defender seems sleeker and lighter than the old version, but I’m not confident yet that it is as protective in a drop situation as the old version — the outer unit on this fits snugly but doesn’t seem as thick as the older version, probably in an effort to reduce weight and volume. But it fits well, looks good (white inner, gray outer) and everything that should be open (camera lens, speakers, etc) are easily available. I’m surprised that it doesn’t have an additional rubber cover for the charging cord area, although the cover on the phone is supposed to make it water resistant.

This one is original and the same price as on the internet. I ordered my first otterbox via internet and it was a fake. Almost I decided to never buy a otterbox again!!! But my wife has a otterbox, too, and is very happy with it! Thanks to B&H I am happy now, too! The otterbox saved my iPhone already two times from severe damage. One time, I am sure, that the door of my fathers car would have killed my iPhone without otterbox

The case is nice but unlike life proof case it is not water or dust resistant. It’s a case to protect the screen from scratches. So you buy cheaper ones to do that. It has a stand but I don’t use it much. I suppose you might use it if you have a separate keyboard.

My only complaint is the latch/cover for the Apple Pencil charging spot. It’s constantly falling off and allows dust and other debris to get into an otherwise sealed case. I’ll be returning it because of that.
