I may have missed the significance of the word defender. This Otterbox is hugely clunky – thick and ugly. Makes my beautiful new Samsung feel ugly. Very sorry I bought this product. More or better graphics on the website might have warned me that I was buying a brick of a case and thereby losing the elegance of the phone itself… On the other hand – perfect if you need very, very serious protection – like on a building site or something…

All of my Apple products use Otterbox Defender cases so when I bought the newer iPad Air I knew I wanted this case. What I love about this case is that it has the cover which acts as a stand + encases the iPad when traveling + there is a clear plastic film that helps keep dust & dirt from getting directly onto the screen. The only place I could find this particular case was directly from Otterbox. You cannot go wrong with Otterbox.

This is exactly what I was looking for! I have two todlers in my house and I needed something to protect my (very expensive) ipad. You can tell once you put it on, it will do its job. This case does make the ipad a bit heavy, but it is expected. My only two complaints are the outer case and the color of the case. The outer case is perfect for holding the ipad up and to type, but it is a bit tedious to remove it everytime i want to use the camera. I wish the outer case had a hole for the camara so I could use it easily and actually put it on the ipad when i take it out. My other complaint is the colors this case comes in. Come on! It’s so unfair that the cases for the ipad air come in all sets of different colors and all we get is black and blind your eyes fuscia. If these two things don’t bother you than this is the case for you. Its sturdy and perfect to protect your device from any falls or accidents

I had gotten the same case 2 months earlier for an ipad2 and it was ok. This one for ipad2 and 3 was improved with a screen cover, better fitting rubber cover and access ports that stayed closed. Much improved.

I love the Otterbax Defender series of products. Yes, they are a bit bulky, but the point is to protect your expensive electronics and they do that very well. My phone gets dropped on concrete 3-4 times a week and I’ve never had a problem. I’ll soon be using my iPad as part of my business and I’ll likely drop it at some point as well. Two things about this design are a little wonky, but easy to live with since these cases are all about protection. The case for the iPad is bulky, but the cover is just ridiculously bulky. Inside of the cover is a stand and a place to store your iPencil and this adds about 3/4 of an inch to the overall thickness of the case / cover combo. I seldom use the cover because of the added thickness. The other issue concerns the iPencil charging cover; it just doesn’t work very well. If you don’t use the iPencil it’s fine as you just leave it on. I have removed it as I use the pencil a lot and it’s significantly more convenient to keep the iPencil on the iPad, fully charged, but then the little “door” gets knocked off. Overall I’m extremely happy with this case / cover combo.

All of our iphones and iPads live in the Defender cases. They have been dropped on cement floors during airport checks, dropped in house….devices remain safe and unharmed. They make your device heavier, but safety is the primary issue for us.

This is the fifth OtterBox case I’ve bought over the years to protect my devices – 2 iPads, 2 iPhones, and an iPod Touch. In fact, when I get a new device, I won’t use it until it’s safely encased in an OtterBox. My devices get used hard, and I’ve never cracked a screen or had to repair a device. Coincidence? I think not.

The Otter case for the iPad is great. I use my iPad for car sales and I have all of our car inventory on my iPad and with the Otter case I feel comfortable taking it out on the lot knowing it is protected from bumps or being dropped ..I think I made a good investment!
