The 12GB DDR3 1333 MHz SO-DIMM Memory Kit from OWC / Other World Computing consists of one 4GB module and one 8 GB module for a total of 12GB. It is designed for select iMac, Mac mini and MacBook Pro models, and is also compatible with certain AMD/Intel process-based PC laptops. These SO-DIMMs are non-parity, non-ECC, and dual ranked and run on 1.5V. They are compatible with systems that have available 204-pin slots. For performance, the chips operate on a CAS latency of 9 and have a 1333 MHz frequency. The memory modules fully meet Apple’s specifications and is fully compliant with JEDEC specifications. It is also RoHS certified.

I did not notice any clear improvement passing from 8GB to 16GB of RAM on a 2012 MacBook Pro. The installation was successful and easy. Not sure if it’s the low quality of the product but I didn’t see any clear improvement in speed.

Not really a fan of OWC components. Memory is such a *crucial* component of a computer, I prefer a more reputable brand. But in a pinch, OWC memory does work well enough.
