Upgrade the memory in your 27″ iMac with Retina 5K Display (Late 2015) with a model ID of iMac17,1 using the 16GB DDR3 1867 MHz SO-DIMM Memory Kit from OWC / Other World Computing. This memory kit features a total capacity of 16GB, which is made up of two 8GB modules. It also has a clock speed of 1867 MHz, a bus speed of PC3-14900, and a 204-pin SO-DIMM form factor. It operates using 1.35V, has a CAS Latency of CL=11, a cycle time of 1.875 ns, does not support ECC technology, and is not registered. Additionally, it is fully compliant with JEDEC specifications and is RoHS certified.
Please bear in mind that this RAM will only work with the Apple 27″ iMac with Retina 5K Display (Late 2015). These systems have a model ID of iMac17,1.

I didn’t read the reviews on BH before buying, I just went with Hey it’s an OWC product! Fantastic!… I was wrong. I don’t know what’s wrong with these memories but if you buy the 64GB kit you’ll be dealing with tons of restarts when you are trying to create smart previews or export a bunch of images on Lr.

I decided to try an upgrade from an 8BG RAM to a 16GB RAM because of two issues. One, my activity monitor, at times, indicated a small degree of Memory Pressure, and two, I thought one of my main programs probably needed more RAM. Very happy so far. My Activity Monitor now seems to indicate 10 to 12GB of memory used, so I assume my additional 8GB of RAM is helping. Not sure I can actually tell the difference going from 8 to 16GB of RAM but the additional RAM appears at least to be useful according to the Activity Monitor.

I don’t think it is good for iMac 27 5k 2015 late version. When I put into the iMac is not that stable. It will temporally restart. I don’t recommend ppl buy it. I think that is why Apple they don’t have this option. I hope it can fix this bug.
