Upgrade the memory in your 27″ iMac with Retina 5K Display (Late 2015) with a model ID of iMac17,1 using the 32GB DDR3 1867 MHz SO-DIMM Memory Kit from OWC / Other World Computing. This memory kit features a total capacity of 32GB, which is made up of four 8GB modules. It also has a clock speed of 1867 MHz, a bus speed of PC3-14900, and a 204-pin SO-DIMM form factor. It operates using 1.35V, has a CAS Latency of CL=11, a cycle time of 1.875 ns, does not support ECC technology, and is not registered. Additionally, it is fully compliant with JEDEC specifications and is RoHS certified.
Please bear in mind that this RAM will only work with the Apple 27″ iMac with Retina 5K Display (Late 2015). These systems have a model ID of iMac17,1.

Worked for my late 2015 iMac 27 inch Retina display. Don’t buy apples ram it’s a waste of money. Buy this ram. It’s super easy to install and it works like a charm. If you’re unsure on how to install it there are great YouTube videos that will walk you through it.

Received late 2015 5k iMac the same day as the memory. Installed the memory and it was recognized so I thought nothing of it. Exporting and working with files in davinci resolve 12 kept hard crashing my iMac so I thought something was wrong with the computer itself. Before I contact apple I just happen to put my factory 8 gigs back in and everything works as it should. Too much of a guessing game to figure which stick is bad so I’m sending them all back. The iMac kept freezing during diagnostic with those sticks in trying to figure which one was bad. Mine was the 32 gig but I’m sure it’s what the above comments are experiencing as well.

I decided to increase the memory in my iMac from the original 8GB to 24GB. The installation was simple and smooth, but I have to admit Im disappointed that there does not appear to be a significant boost in speed or overall performance.

I bought an iMac with the standard 8GB installed memory and wanted to bump it up a bit. But I was surprised that B&H sells OWC memory. I normally buy my memory from OWC, but I had a delivery issue, which is why I came to B&H.

The memory is fine and was easy to install except that the computer crashed repeatedly after installing the memory. I ended up having to remove all the memory from the computer, including what was already installed, and reinsert each card, with the new memory going where the existing memory had been installed. I did do this in pairs and upgraded my 8GB to 24GB total. I have had no problems since then.

For a while I was completely unaware that I could easily upgrade the ram on my iMac. Found out what I needed, ordered this product and everything is running much better now that I have 24gb If youre combining these cards with existing ram place the new ram in the slots that are being used by the old and move the old ram to the spots that are not being used.

I decided to try an upgrade from an 8BG RAM to a 16GB RAM because of two issues. One, my activity monitor, at times, indicated a small degree of Memory Pressure, and two, I thought one of my main programs probably needed more RAM. Very happy so far. My Activity Monitor now seems to indicate 10 to 12GB of memory used, so I assume my additional 8GB of RAM is helping. Not sure I can actually tell the difference going from 8 to 16GB of RAM but the additional RAM appears at least to be useful according to the Activity Monitor.
