Upgrade the memory in your 27″ iMac with Retina 5K Display (Late 2015) with a model ID of iMac17,1 using the 32GB DDR3 1867 MHz SO-DIMM Memory Kit from OWC / Other World Computing. This memory kit features a total capacity of 32GB, which is made up of four 8GB modules. It also has a clock speed of 1867 MHz, a bus speed of PC3-14900, and a 204-pin SO-DIMM form factor. It operates using 1.35V, has a CAS Latency of CL=11, a cycle time of 1.875 ns, does not support ECC technology, and is not registered. Additionally, it is fully compliant with JEDEC specifications and is RoHS certified.
Please bear in mind that this RAM will only work with the Apple 27″ iMac with Retina 5K Display (Late 2015). These systems have a model ID of iMac17,1.

Making the commitment to remove the factory 4G x 2 of Ram for the 8G x 2 money well spent – large layered imaging files in Photoshop not a problem now. Spinning beach ball less frequent…Id do it again.

OWC 32GB upgrade for my iMac late 2015. upgraded from a measly 8GB to 32GB. Jaw dropper. install literally took about 6 mins. just noted orientation of the OEM RAM as i took it out and lined up the four new bars of Freedom! slotted them and levered them into place. boots faster and web pages load faster also! i haven’t done any video editing on iMovie just yet, but maybe this weekend. Same RAM on amazon was double the price (pretty sure) All the bars worked perfectly no DOA’s! this was my first upgrade on my 5 year old iMac 5K 2015 so thank you to B&H for having this RAM at a great price and quick ship down to Florida.

Bought 32GB for our 5K iMac a couple of years back. As soon as we installed it, we had issues with freezes and crashes. Called OWC which are usually good at replacing any defective product. They said that we had to test it in the machine before returning it and submitting a report; they recommended Rember, software to test the RAM. As long as we ran Rember the iMac didn’t crash but as soon as we turned it off, it would freeze or crash again. This meant there was no report or proof of the issues. So for about a year we just ran Rember all the time but it slowed down the machine a bit. But we lived with it since OWC wouldn’t replace the RAM. Then in the last couple of months the crashes started up again and are really severe and even Rember doesn’t record anything since the computer freezes instantly and damages software that is running or project files. It’s too bad, OWC used to be really supportive but not so much anymore.

I had the same experience as the other reviewers. The Imac froze over and over after installing this ram. after reverting back to factory 8gb, had no more issues. Stay away from this product.
