A brilliant solution to work around the dedicated apple hard drive temperature sensors. This is my second one and they have been problem free so far.

The necessary thing to replace the hard drive on your Mac 2011. You are unlikely to buy a brand Apple disk with a built-in thermal sensor, and this kit will allow you to connect any other hard drive. Good luck!

If you own an Apple Imac or macbook at some point you will need to upgrade. The disturbing thing with Apple is how they stop you using ordinary HDDs or SSDs in your machine. This device gets around you buying Apple HDDs or SSDs which are expensive. The product fits between the drive and power connect and opens your system up to non Apple drives. Its easy to install and makes upgrading a breeze. For $40 bucks its a great work around.

I could go on and on about how dumb it is that you need this part when upgrading the drive in certain iMacs. However that’s not OWC’s fault, that’s Apples fault. And you do need this cable when you change the hard drive, else your fans will runs at mac speed because they won’t be able to get the temperature of the drive (even though technically the temperature is in the SMART data and the computer has full access to that). If you don’t want to spend the money for this, you can also use a free utility called MacsFanControl that lets you set the fan speed based off of the temperature via SMART data. You just have to keep that utility installed all the time. Or you can just use this cable.

Esta funcionando bien. Despus de un pequeo susto, por que no prendi la pantalla, que resulto que no haba conectado bien los cables antes de cerrarla.
