The Envoy Pro EX USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C External SSD Enclosure from OWC / Other World Computing has an empty NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 SSD slot, allowing users to equip it with a compatible SSD of their choice and store photos, videos, music, documents and more. Able to deliver data transfer speeds of up to 980 MB/s, the Envoy Pro EX has the power to edit 4K videos and photos, as well as record directly from USB Type-C cameras, including ones from Blackmagic Design. Thanks to its anodized aluminum housing, this enclosure is dustproof, and its IP67 waterproof rating means it can survive for up to 30 minutes in 3.3′ of water. With a size and weight that is similar to an iPhone, OWC’s Envoy Pro EX easily fits into your pocket, purse, or gear bag for user-friendly and safe transportation. It is compatible with systems running Windows 10 and later, as well as macOS 10.12 or later and other operating systems that support USB 3.1 Gen 2, such as Linux, Chrome, and Android. It is powered via the bus from your host system’s USB Type-C port and, since they use the same interface, is also compatible with Thunderbolt 3.
Please note that this enclosure supports booting on Mac, but not Windows.

This NVMe enclosure is very easy to set up and yields terrific transfer speeds. It would be perfect if the enclosure itself were screw free, but that is a minor point.
