Built with the capacity to store up to 1TB of your photos, videos, music, documents, and other files, the Envoy Pro EX has the power to edit 4K videos and photos, as well as record directly from USB Type-C cameras, including ones from Blackmagic Design. Thanks to its anodized aluminum housing, this SSD is dustproof, and its IP67 waterproof rating means it can survive for up to 30 minutes in 3.3′ of water. With a size and weight that is similar to an iPhone, OWC’s Envoy Pro EX easily fits into your pocket, purse, or gear bag for user-friendly and safe transportation. It is compatible with systems running Windows 10 and later, as well as macOS 10.12 or later and other operating systems that support USB 3.1 Gen 2, such as Linux, Chrome, and Android. It is powered via the bus from your host system’s USB Type-C port and, since they use the same interface, is also compatible with Thunderbolt 3.
Please note that this SSD supports booting on Mac, but not Windows.

I replaced my 16TB OWC RAID with this. Yes I had to of course archive a lot to get my projects onto something half the size, but I find myself needing the speed and portability these days. Lugging the RAID around, and cords, and then needing power . . . I decided it was time to move to SSD all around. This one is the best price for the capacity, bus powered, small and sleek. It get’s extremely hot at times. If I could have one wish I’d like them to add a port to it. None of the Thunderbolt 3 gear have two ports 🙁

I recently replaced my iMac with a new one with a 512 SSD. To augment accessible storage of photos I added this OWC drive. I can open stored psd files in Photoshop immediately – no lag time – and save to the OWC drive.

This thing blew my mind. I moved about 250 GB of media onto this from my 2019 iMac and it took less than 10 minutes. My only complaint/concern is regarding the cord. Because it’s built in, I wonder what the mileage will be and if it will come apart. The cord is also a little shorter than what I would prefer.

In general I am very happy with it, but I noticed, when using a mac book pro, and I have plug in an extension through 2 usb c, that provides 2 hdmi etc… it sometimes disconnects the drive This is really annoying I have another extension that uses only one port USB c and has only one hdmi output, and this one works fine so I am not sure it it is the problem of OWC or that particular extension Anyway, once you receive the product be sure to test it with the different configuration you may want to use it, and ensure it works without disconnecting after a minute or so
