The space gray 14-Port Thunderbolt 3 Dock from OWC / Other World Computing is designed to provide a combination of ports, convenience, and power to your computer via its included Thunderbolt 3 cable. With an integrated pair of Thunderbolt 3 ports, this dock allows a data transfer rate that can reach up 40 Gb/s, which is also capable of supporting dual 4K or single 5K displays. Moreover, extending or mirroring your system’s screen to an external monitor is possible with this dock’s Mini DisplayPort 1.2 port.
Connecting to wired peripherals with OWC’s 14-Port Thunderbolt 3 Dock is easy with five USB 3.1 Gen 1 USB Type-A ports, a single USB 3.1 Gen 2 USB Type-C port, microSD and SD card reader slots, and a Gigabit Ethernet jack. If you like to switch between systems when you work, you can rest easy since the 14-Port Thunderbolt 3 Dock is compatible with Windows and Mac. Furthermore, this dock is designed to be compact and minimize desk clutter while you charge your computer and mobile devices simultaneously with its 85W power supply.

A must-have if you’re using a macbook, especially an M1 with only 2 native ports. I have this running my monitor, two external HD’s, 2 card readers, an iProfiler, a wacom tablet and I’m running power to the laptop all with this dock. It’s brilliant. One cable from the laptop to the dock is handling all of this.

I love OWC – Apple-level build quality, design and functionality at a fraction of the price. This unit keeps my MacBook Pro fully charged during intensive video editing and graphic compositing/rendering. Love the SD slots in the front, the headphone jack seems to work better for me than the internal MacBook headphone port, just an all around great purchase, thank you!

This isn’t a technical review because I don’t know the details behind the magic but I can say that after 45 days, the dock has been a solid performer. No surprises it just works. I’ve got all the outlets I needed with a couple in reserve. It gets warm so I know it is working. It’s expensive but it filled the need. Looks nice too even though I keep it hidden because I don’t like the wires showing on top of my desk. I would buy it again and I can recommend it.

It does what it said on the box. The power pack is larger than I expected but it’s worth it to stream line how my video raids connect to my editing setup. Plus having a head phone jack that I can see (Mac) is a bonus.

For my new MacBook Pro M1, I first tried purchasing Caldigit’s new Element Thunderbolt 4 hub. It was nothing but an endless kernel panic with the M1 chip. Caldigit implied that was Apple’s fault for their implementation of Thunderbolt 4 ports, but I didn’t let them make me stick around long enough to sort out who’s fault it was. I returned it, and bought this OWC one and it’s been SO much better! No panics yet, sleep works fine, everything returns from sleep (whereas Caldigit’s would consider my Pegasus2 RAID an erroneous disconnection everytime it slept), and it’s actually really nice having SPDIF (digital) audio out, ethernet, and the card readers. I wish this had one more thunderbolt port out, but then again, I could still daisy chain a couple of my thunderbolt devices no problem. So far so great for this OWC 14-port T3 dock.

Great so far! Really nice to have 5 USB A 3.0 ports on the back, headphone (with mic!) on the front is great for the ubiquitous zoom calls of today. Using it via thunderbolt2 adapter with no issues. Should future proof a bit for when I eventually upgrade to desktop machine with USB C

This dock I got met and exceeded my expectations. Works perfectly with my 2020 intel MacBook Pro. No issues with randomly hibernating or other unknown anomalies I had experience with other thunderbolt three and four docks. Plus this is space grey if colour is important to your setup. Lastly the shipping to Canada is fast and worry free.
