This product is a kitchen necessity. Can steam veggies and other needed foods in any size pot over 8 in. It’s able to be diverse in prepping meals st least once a week. The only negative aspect of the steamer is it was tough to empty quickly into another container.

Another WIN by OXO! I have found that all of the OXO products are so well thought out and practical for their application. This steamer does not disappoint. It fits neatly into my pots and with just a little bit of water I have beautifully steamed broccoli (and other veggies too!). The clean up is also straightforward and easy. This steamer is very well made and practical–it can be used for many different kinds of things and is easy to clean. We used it for vegetables and it works great. The handle is excellent; the only thing that would make me like it better is if the open and close of the handle synced up with the open and close of the steamer petals. But that’s just a personal preference. You will not be disappointed with this steamer. Highly recommend!

Once again, OXO makes another quality user friendly kitchen gadget. This stainless steel steamer is the perfect size for family food steaming in your home. It fits pots 8 inches or greater in diameter. It has 1 3/4 inch feet on the bottom to elevate the steamer above the water, and they fold flat for storage. It also has a removeable handle incase you are steaming large items. The telescoping handle extends and locks into position for filling and transporting, and it also retracts to accommodate pot lids while steaming. And a nice idea to make a hole in the handle to stick your fork in for transport (to keep your hands away from the steam). It is also dishwasher safe.

Best steaming basket I’ve ever owned!I’ve had similar metal folding wire baskets, but they had less stable risers for keeping the cooking items above the water. These three risers hold the items being cooked about 1 inch above the pan base. This is great. Also, the risers look to be more securely attached. Others lose one leg, then the steamer is useless!And the handle for lifting the hot items out is quite unique. It compactly fits down into the pan, but telescopically opens to a higher length for lifting out.Love it! Another quality product by OXO.

This steamer has some really nice upgraded features from the traditional steamer that I grew up with in my Nana’s kitchen. The plastic handle stays relatively cool during boiling so I was able to use my bare hands to pick it up out of the water, but the slots for a fork is a nice touch. The retractable feet on the bottle of the basket is nice, but it can be easily used without. This is a nice kitchen tool for making quick and easy babyfood at home.

I’ve been looking for a vegetable steamer for a few months now and received this one a couple of days ago. I love it! It fits perfectly into my 8″ round pot and I can raise it about 2 inches from the bottom of the pot by pulling out the ‘feet’, or I can lower it by folding in the ‘feet’. The handle is such a helpful piece, and I love that it’s also removable in case I have a fuller pot of items to steam. The handle also can be extended longer or shorter – kind of a useful feature depending on what you’re steaming and what size pot you’re using. The steamer is really intuitive and easy to use, which is a huge plus for me. It also has a nice feel to it, like it’s high quality. It’s also super easy to clean and it stores nice and compact. I love my steamer!

Good product with some flaws. The elevated feet require a taller pot than I normally use to steam vegetables. The extending, removable handle is a good concept in theory, but has a drawback in that it is rather large and makes removing food after steaming a challenge. You could remove the handle and solve this problem, but at that point in the cooking process, the handle is hot. The hole in the handle allowing fork use to remove from the pot is a plus, though. The removable handle would allow for the steaming of larger food items than my previous steamer. It is apparently made of superior materials and seems to be quite high quality. All-in-all, a good product with the exception of the flaws noted.

While the steamer may look compact, it actually extends out to fit big pots; one of my most favorite features is that it can conform to whatever size pot to create a perfect fit. The quality of the steamer is excellent and very firmly made. I love how food doesn’t stick to the steamer and is dishwasher safe.My favorite way to use the steamer is in a pressure cooker to steam salmon and veggies at the same time for a quick and healthy dinner. The size of the steamer can fit 2 pieces of salmon and a lot of veggies. The only thing I was cautious about was the plastic handle because I didn’t know if it can withstand the heat from the pressure cooker. Because I didn’t want to risk the handle melting, after some fidgeting, I realized you could unscrew the plastic handle so I did just that. Therefore, I do wish that the direction/description of the product on the package would show that the handle is removable.

As a person who eats tons of vegetables, I’ve tried many steamer inserts on the market. OXO Good Grips Steamer with Extendable Handle is wonderful!! The company spent a great deal of time paying attention to details. Small details, like multiple adjustable parts, make a big impact on the steamer. Raised foldable legs on the bottom of the steamer are sturdy and help keep vegetables, fish, etc. out of the boiling water while steaming. Another great feature on the OXO Good Grips Steamer with Extendable Handle is the handle its self. With a flexible handle, the steamer and handle fit in the pot together effortlessly while accommodating different pot lid heights. I found the extendable handle easy to grip while inserting and removing my vegetables from the pot. The built-in fork insert keeps one safe while taking the steamer out of the hot water; this feature is easy to use. Overall, I would recommend OXO Good Grips Steamer with Extendable Handle. Fresh and frozen food steams quickly and evenly with the insert, plus it’s easy to clean. What more can you ask for? Give the product a try!

This is a very deluxe strainer basket compared to most we have owned. It is solidly built and well finished. The fold out legs boost this steamer higher above the water than is typical, which could be a nice feature.The handle is very nice making it easier to grasp and lower into a pot. The slot in the handle for picking the whole thing up with a fork is definitely nice when dealing with a basketful full of steaming food. This is a great addition to your kitchen for a wide range of steaming uses.

My wife says that the Good Grips steamer is the best steamer she has had. The fold out legs and are at a perfect height to put in a lot of water if necessary but still keep the item being steamed away from the actual liquid. The steamer adapts easily to both large and medium size pots and the portion of the handle you normally grab to remove it from the pot does not get hot and in addition it extends to a perfect height for safe removal well away from hot items being steamed. The handle pushes down so that it doesn’t interfere with the lid in shorter pots. It is easy to store as the legs and sides fold up into a compact size. It is well built out of a good quality stainless and looking at the construction, it should last for many years.

This is much nicer than it has to be. It folds up well for storage and is really easy to use. This seems like it was made specifically for pressure cookers/instant pots which is what I use it for. the legs are kind of short which may be an issue in a traditional pot as you may need more water than you can add, I really like the handle. It’s removable and you can sick a fork (or whatever) in it to lift it out of the pot instead of using your hands or trying to get a pot holder/towel in there.
