Set it up as the principal data storage device for my MacBook Pro in just a few seconds. Fast and silent (especially as compared to my Drobo array of conventional hard drives). I never intended to travel with it but seeing how compact and fast it is, I’m wondering whether I shouldn’t take it along with my MacBook whenever I travel.

Backups are lightning fast due to the multiple connection options provided in the packaging. It comes with both USB-C and USB 3.0 cabling making it transfer as fast as your equipment will let it. It is fast enough for me to run Lightroom photo processing off of this drive but, I choose not to – it’s THAT fast! Solid case protects it while sitting atop your rig. Thin profile is small enough to fit in your pocket without unsightly panty lines!!! Buy this drive if you are in the market for a large capacity external SSD drive – you will NOT BE SORRY.

I needed external HD to backup my Mac projects and keep offsite for small risk of theft, fire etc. Large capacity, uber compact and fast. Perfect for my needs.

The 8TB storage is a welcomed addition to my gaming platform. Do not try to run any games off of this drive as it is still not fast enough (I am using the USB 3.0 connector as my rig has no USB-C slots which limits my read/write speed) but, if you use this to free up internal SSD space, then you can benefit from this additional drive just as I have. Do not get me wrong – the read/write speed is smoking fast comparatively speaking to HDDs. It’s just that my machine will not allow me the comfort of USB-C speeds. This is my limitation but, if you have USB-C slots, you will enjoy a rather significant boost in performance. For this reason, I give this drive 5 stars!!!

No extreme conditions-just suddenly dead.

So far, so good! I’ve transferred my Lightroom catalog to this SSD and now I have room for a couple more terabytes. There is a very solid connection between the SSD and my new Mac. Is it the new Mac? Or the awesome connection cord that comes with the SSD? Try it and find out!

I’ve been using external hard drives for my photography library for years-Lacies, mostly. This is the first time I’ve used an SSD. SO much faster, from transferring the images to editing in Lightroom-and it’s OS and Windows compatible right out of the box. It’s light, and small, and easily portable. I love it.
