Both XMP1 and XMP2 were unstable on my MSI Z390 Gaming Edge AC motherboard, I had to manually clock it down to 4000MHz, but I’m still happy with the performance for the price, and I appreciate the aesthetics.

This is Samsung B-Die, yes. For most all DDR that has flat primary numbers of 14-14-14, 16-16-16, 19-19-19, etc. will allow you to assume that the chips are B-Die. Further, this is Single-Rank (2x8GB normally is, but if you see B-Die primary numbers in a 2x16GB kit assume it is Dual-Rank) so high speeds are possible with higher end CPU’s. I was originally using with my 5600X a B-Die kit from G.Skill of 3200/Cl14 (also B-Die). But my own 5600X has an incredibly weak UMC (memory controller) when compared to my previous 3600X. The 3600X could do 3733 Mb/s at CL15 with the G.Skill set at matching Fabric Clock speeds (FCLK) without stability issues. Where as my 5600X just, for the life of me, could not take the same kit past 3600 Mb/s at CL15 (and only 3400 Mb/s at CL14 was ever truly stable), but even then I would get intermittent stability issues due to the Fabric Clock instability. All voltages with the G.Skill B-Die kit were between 1.42v and 1.49v depending on what I was trying. That said, the 5600X just has better instructions per clock (IPC) than the 3600X so it was always still faster. But moving to this 4400 Mb/s CL19 kit, I was able to both get 3733 Mb/s and CL 16-16-16-16 stable with a matching FCLK at about 1.44v and SoC voltage about 1.12v. While not great, no, at least it’s all stable now and I can pump out just a few more frames per second with good settings on (questionably good) games like Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p (faster RAM will always be tied to more FPS at lower resolutions, though, as higher resolutions tend to be very GPU bound). A high price, even at ~$115’ish, for just a few frames per second more, but, honestly, this is all more a hobby than anything else. If one really cared about graphics and system performance then reasonable money should really be put towards both cooling a mid-range CPU and buying a better graphics card than I have (currently using a 3070Ti).

Its been really hard trying to get it to clock correctly. With default XMP profiles, this thing doesn’t even boot. going into manual mode, I can crank this thing to 3733… but I can do the same with gskill ram half the price. Am I doing something wrong? Ryzen 9 5900x Dark Hero mobo Rtx 3090

Like other users here have commented, this memory appears to be stable up to 4000 MHz with my ASUS ROG Maximum XII Hero WiFi board (Hence, one star deduction). Other than that, it works as expected.

paired with my ryzen 3950x running at 3733 mhz (max infinity fabric 1867) ryzen without problem. running at tight [email protected] latency. . ran at 2T getting it stable long run. while at 1T still not bad. both tested are pass stress test. GIGABYTE mobo X570 TAKES IT WELL. happy to own the ram into my collection. also tested running mixing with 3200 c14 kit ( samsung b die) which i already own setted at same speed it takes well together. b die can take b die at same frequency and latency setting. the price, same b die. heatsink? tridentz is better heat spreader. i have to add watercooling block ram. because i think the ram heatspreader which mix plastic and steel not giving a good for heat spreading enough for this great chip.
