The 10′ Pearstone Type A Male to Type A Female Extension Cable provides a reliable way to connect USB devices to your computer for charging and data transfer. The cable allows you to benefit from the USB 3.0 SuperSpeed maximum transfer rate of 5 Gbps, which is ten times faster than USB 2.0.
This premium cable features two unidirectional paths that simultaneously transmit and receive data. Additionally, USB 3.0 standard type A connectors are backwards compatible with USB 2.0 standard A — as long as one of the devices is USB 3.0 compliant.

There isn’t much to say about such an item. It works. Seems well constructed, the connectors were flawless, neither too tight nor loose. Many extension cables are longer, but if you don’t really need the stretch, this one is effective without adding unnecessarily to cable clutter.

My desktop only has USB 3.0 ports in the back so they are very inconvenient to use. This extension cable solved the problem. I leave it plugged in all the time, sitting on top of the tower so it is easily accessible. Now I get super fast transfer speeds between my 3.0 thumb drive and PC.

We used this to tether camera to laptop and it was perfect! The connectors fit snuggly but we still used a small piece of gaffers tape to make sure it wasn’t accidentally kicked apart. Cable is sturdy and the connectors are reinforced.

I bought this Pearstone USB 3.0 Type A Male to Type A Female Extension Cable – 15′ version to extend the USB 3.0 cable that comes with my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, for the purpose of tethering. It’s GREAT. The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV comes with a USB 3.0 designed and the port is designed with a . If you’ve ever used Tethertools 15′ cables for tethering and a Jerkstopper, then you’re gonna love this: The Canon IFC-150U II USB 3.0 Interface Cable for DSLRs that comes with the Canon 5D Mark IV has a cable protector contraption that literally screws into the side of the body by design, and works like the Jerkstopper ought to work like. They do sell a long version of this cord, but it’s not what comes in box with the body. This is an affordable alternative to still make use of that cable for this matter. I decided to do this to avoid buying extra cables and plus, if I’m not using this for tethering, it can be used for other applications as I need. The quality of the cable is trustworthy and the connection seems perfect. It tethers as it should, with speed. I hope this helps! =
