The 15′ Pearstone Type A Male to Type A Female Extension Cable provides a reliable way to connect USB devices to your computer for charging and data transfer. The cable allows you to benefit from the USB 3.0 SuperSpeed maximum transfer rate of 5 Gbps, which is ten times faster than USB 2.0.
This premium cable features two unidirectional paths that simultaneously transmit and receive data. This is a three foot USB 3.0 extension. I’m using it for my Elgato Stream Deck, which probably doesn’t even need 3.0, but I didn’t want to risk it. I have discovered that it performs as 3′ USB 3.0 extension should. It works.

We used this to tether camera to laptop and it was perfect! The connectors fit snuggly but we still used a small piece of gaffers tape to make sure it wasn’t accidentally kicked apart. Cable is sturdy and the connectors are reinforced.

Much of the time, this extension worked. But suddenly a random assortment of iOS devices would rapidly connect and disconnect, a couple of times per second. But other iOS devices would connect fine. The problem turned out to be this extension cable; the socket is too loose. I can only imagine the data corruption that might result from plugging a thumbdrive into this thing and having it fail during a write. Who knows how many obscure problems it has already caused.

I had a different USB 3.0 6′ cable that it was connected to my ProGrade CF Express B/SD and my Mac Pro 2012/High Sierra. Each time I inserted the CF Express card (SanDisk) my Mac was coming up with strange massage telling me that this disc although is readable but needs to be formatted or something to that order after some trial and error I found out that culprit is my USB cable! I decided to change it to a 3′ USB 3.0 by Pearstone I had so I gave it a try that worked like a charm! no error and no unexpected dismounts from the desktop! I ordered the 6′ USB 3.0 cable by Pearstone and this one works fine too. I am happy.

Bought the 10ft, got USB 1.1 speeds from it on 4 different drives. My solid state drive topped out at 12.1mb/s. My 3 HDD’s maxed out at 8.8mb/s. Probably a bad cable. Returned it, but won’t buy another one at that length or this brand to be safe and save my time. Especially if it ends up being an manufacturing issue.
